Sure, but how many of those in favor of repeal are evil, racist, white people?

If insurance goes up much more, more people will be hurting, health wise, because they will pay their mortgage before they will their insruance.

That would be a great campaign ad. Instead of Granny forced to choose between her food or her medicine, how about Joe Sixpack forced to chose between paying his taxes or buying healthcare for his children?

I THINK WE CAN REPEAL THE BILL IN 2011.

Assuming BO doesn’t legalize millions of new Mexican voters and depending on how GREAT THE BLOODBATH is in 2010,

The house has enough votes to repeal it. The remaining Dems in the Senate might be so terrified by the election results that they might vote to repeal it too.

Who knows how much damage the bill and the tax implications will have caused by then... and Barry’s approval might be in the toilet even more. Unemployment will probably be up by then.

If the right conditions exists after the election this year, I think it could be done.

“This percentage will be much higher in red states and districts.”

There have got to be at least a few Dems with retrospective regrets about being talked into this. The reassurances that the uninformed public would simmer down once they understood what was in the bill appear to be badly off the mark. With each passing day, the public learns of more pesky details that it DETESTS. And the expectations of those the bill was designed to help are being shattered by the realization that while “help is on the way” it will take 4 years to get here. Between now and Election Day, every ox that got gored by this bill has every incentive to bring it to the public’s attention so that lobbyists can pressure Congress to modify their special-interest piece of this monstrosity. In the meantime, Americans who will actually benefit by the bill before then are few and far between.

The “medically uninsurable” (those who can’t get coverage due to pre-existing conditions) make up only 1% of the non-elderly population (2.6 million) and many of these already have access to the same sort of high risk pools that the bill is creating to assist them (at least 35 states already have such pools).

In contrast, nearly 5 million Medicare beneficiaries will lose their Medicare Advantage plans and are likely to be steaming mad about this on Election Day. Add to that many more millions directly affected by the tanning tax and higher premiums associated with tighter insurance rules and the Dems will face a tsunami of angry voters to contend with. Bottom line: the ideological blinders of progressives led them to overlook Politics 101.

These numbers are still surprisingly close.

a qualified “repeal most of it” question would yield 70%

I just wanted to post this because of what is happening today and the things are happening because we have forgotten history. This is both scary and sad.

I believe that it’s going to happen. Force people to make a choice and they will protect their families before the government. If you try and stop them from protecting their families, you will start a war.

a Fox News analyst whose name I don’t recall said it best on Monday.

“We will have to endure a few days of chest-thumping and Democrat victory laps. Then they are going to reap the whilwind”.

I am glad those other polls are out there, so the left can ignore the truth and be caught totally flat footed in November.

They will never even see the wave that is about to hit them, they will be like..... but... BUT...! GALLAP polls said people LOVED healthcare!

ROFL!

“I’m worried people won’t see this until after November.”

No, people are already starting to see it. My father has 150 employees and his renewal is coming up next month. Insurance companies are already putting major hikes in. Say you’re a single guy or gal at the beginning of your career and you could pay several hundred a month in premiums, or choose to pay a $1000 fine and get insurance as soon as you get injured or seriously ill (because that is now the law). Financially speaking, it’s a no-brainer. This will only serve to drive up the premiums even higher for those with families or those who need continuous care. Insurance companies will be unable, almost mathematically unable, to make a profit. They will be “bailed out” by the government, which will then own them, and all of a sudden we will have our official single-payer system. Cheers!

One more thing. For those 150 employees, the option is either firing some or cutting the salaries of all. This will be happening all over the country.

The insurance expert on Rush said most go out in January. Our insurance premium actually went down this year by about $50/month. We pay about $550/month to insure my husband, myself, and our 2 kids. It is an excellent policy that fits our needs well. We have a $1,500 max deductible for the family and pay 50/50 until we reach our deductible. Pretty much everything is covered. We are self-employed, so I don’t know what we are gonna do when Obamacare shoots out rates up to $20,000/year. We were planning to get a more basic plan (catastrophic coverage only) after our last child is born this May since we won’t need maternity care coverage anymore. We don’t really pay out much in medical care and don’t need an expensive insurance plan, but Obamacare takes our freedom of choice away.

Twenty-six percent (26%) of voters nationwide say the legislation will have a positive impact on them personally, while 43% expect a negative impact. Twenty-five percent (25%) say the massive overhaul of the health care system will have no impact on them personally.

This 25% is in for a huge surprise.

*Bump*

55% is incredible. That not just 55% who disapprove of Obamacare, but 55% who want it REPEALED. That is huge.
