Listening to right-wing talk radio on the day after Congress passed health care reform, Bill O'Reilly was stunned. To him, the hosts and the callers sounded "crazed" as they shrieked about "the end of the world, we're socialist now, we have to take the country back."
Bill Hemmer, another Fox host who probably needs medication, has suggested that the legislation will send Americans who don't have health insurance to prison.
On the radio, Rush Limbaugh, the past master of extremist chatter, told his listeners that the bill is an "utter disaster" that represents "the destruction of America as founded."
Over the next six months, millions of voters will take a deep breath and realize that those attacks were blatantly untrue. They may even discover that the bill passed by the Democrats and signed by President Obama will benefit their families immediately.
Limbaugh listeners and Fox fans will stick their fingers in their ears and scream "socialism," but the rest of America may listen -- and then decide, sometime between now and Election Day, that passing health care reform was the right thing to do.

And there is no grant of authority in the Constitution for the Federal Government to act in the area of health care at all . . .

In a serious, non-sarcastic comment, when I saw Sowell, who has a moderate temperment, write that the health care bill combined with legalizing illegals to vote will probably mean the end of our Republic, I took that very seriously. He’s a serious man and not a guy that overblows things.
Exactly so. Everytime one of them pontificates they just prove, again, why we need a divorce. Not only do they refuse to listen to or heed any of our concerns or warnings, they insult and ridicule us.
If the average american doesn’t have a stake in your program then don’t be surprised when he isn’t bothered by it’s destruction.
They piss on our heads and tell us it’s raining! Time to bring some bad news down on them.

Joe, Americans just aren't as stupid as you think they are. They know about the bill, they think it'll cost us piles of money that we don't have and restrict their access to health care.
They're not going to wake up one morning and decide that's a good thing.

The problem with health care in the United States is that it is too expensive. When I was a kid in the early ‘60s, on Long Island, a trip to Dr. Canaan was $3.00. If your family earned less money than some othe people, he charged you $2.00. Fifty cents extra was charged for a house call. Now I am not suggesting doctors accept these prices today, but why are their fees so high that medical insurance must cover them? In the old days,my father had blue cross/blue shield for hospitalization which of course would normally entail higher fees, but no one back then used insurance to pay for a doctor visit! About 15 years ago, I asked a doctor why fees were so high, and she said it was because a doctor must pay a fortune in liability insurance since people sue for everything. So, this whole mess can be blamed on excessive greed? To insure people that are already sick is not a good business move, and insurance companies are businesses first and foremost. Of course it seems unfeeling to deny the coverage, but if insurance companies have to carry individuals already ill, won’t the insurance companies eventually go out of business? There has to be other solutions. Lawyers represent clients pro bono, why don’t doctors? Certainly the health care debacle could have been solved if corporate and private interests put their heads together and now it is too late.
