DALE CITY, Va. -- Both drivers involved a road road duel on Interstate 95 during Tuesday afternoon's rush hour are being charged with trying to kill each other.
Virginia State Police Wednesday evening took dump truck driver James A. Bringham, 44, of Woodbridge, into custody. Police obtained a warrant against Bringham for attempted second-degree murder. Police previously charged Bringham with reckless driving.
Already charged with attempted second-degree murder is Gabriel Poventud, 25, of Woodbridge. He's also charged with charged with child endangerment, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting a missile into an occupied vehicle and reckless use of a firearm.
Police say Poventud -- who allegedly fired 13 rounds -- had his 2-year-old daughter in his Jaguar during the road rage incident on southbound I-95.
This happened after Bringham, the driver of a 2007 Ford F550 dump truck, tried to merge into the southbound lanes of I-95 from Route 123, shortly after 4 p.m.

I had a guy in a van that obviously did custom countertops deliberately cut me off twice. So I wrote down the phone number that was on the side of his van and called him and cussed him out as soon as I got home...........He was still on the road .......LOL!
The common denominator seems to be you in these stories. Are you instigating these events! lol (just kidding.)

“In that kind of traffic, to have somebody shoot upwards of 13 rounds at a moving vehicle, the fact that nobody was struck, no houses, no vehicles is somewhat miraculous,”
I’d like to believe that a DUMP TRUCK is a sufficiently large target, so as not to miss.
(’bout the size of the proverbial barn door)
this fact is lost. The maniac in the truck tried to use his vehicle to exact revenge on the guy that wouldn’t let him in. he could have killed at least two people because his ego was bruised. He’s lucky the guy was a bad shot but he looks like the kind of guy that was shooting sideways.
In return, the guy could have let the truck in front of him but we all know that .0001 of a second really makes a difference when your stuck in bumper-to-bumper rush-hour traffic.
Clear case of the shooter did not know the proper use of a gun. I use my camera first in these events living in VA. I carry a camera and my gun in the car. If someone is stupid I draw my camera first. My gun is at the ready in a holster on the seat between my legs. Use the camera first.
Good point; and I wonder how a 25 year-old affords a Jag. Not to say that he couldn’t be a legal owner... just saying that the age and the car don’t quite add-up. Unless he’s a spoiled brat rich kid.

Gabriel Poventud
When I first read the name of the driver, I thought it was Gabriel Proventurd.
Fitting. lol
That reminds me of a joke I heard. A guy tells his wife, "You've been with me through a lot of bad times. You were with me when our house burned down. You were with me when I had my heart attack. You were with me when I crashed my car. You were there when I broke my arm skiing. There's only one thing I can say, you're a jinx.
Yep, that’s good!
Not all are like that. My father is a truck driver and taught me how to drive. His attitude has always been ‘the larger the vehicle, the greater the driver’s responsibility’ but he’s always been a big believer in personal responsibility, so he’s probably not representative of most people these days.
You have a sensible dad!
Last time I bought a box of WWB missiles at Walmart (100 round value pack), I needed a forklift to get them into the back of the truck.
But, they’re fun at the range...well worth the effort.
I see this all the time- a vehicle in the right travel lane approaching an interchange, with a driver who refuses to move left (even if unblocked by left lane traffic) to allow an efficient merge.
I am in the habit of moving over a quarter mile or so before exchanges if safely able to do so; it is simply courteous and promotes safe merges. Of course, it greatly annoys the 90 MPH Beamer speeder who was a half mile back and gaining on me that it may take a half mile or so for me to move safely back to the right, since I’ve stayed in cruise control at 70, but that’s his problem.
“
Its hard to believe that nothing or no one was hit with that
many rounds being fired.
“
After seeing that video clip of the two Law enforcement officers
that had the shootout with the two brothers after a traffic stop...
I can believe a no-hits-scored situation happened.
(IIRC, this was in Ohio and the two brothers were from Montana and
part of some nutburger group. A load of lead was fired and none of the
two brothers or two LEOs was hit...AT POINT BLANK RANGE.)
Dude's watched Ronin one too many times.
