{California State} Sen. Wiggins to take partial leave from the Legislature

Democratic Sen. Pat Wiggins, who has raised eyebrows with occasional outbursts at the Capitol, is taking a partial leave from the Legislature to attend to an undisclosed medical condition.

"Senator Wiggins will be here to cast the important votes as the session proceeds," Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg said Wednesday. "But other than that, she needs some time to deal with some medical issues. So that's what she is doing."

The Senate Rules Committee was scheduled Wednesday to remove the Santa Rosa legislator from the Senate Local Government, Senate Veterans Affairs and Joint Legislative Audit committees, and to remove her as chairwoman - but not as a member - of the Joint Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture.

David Miller, Wiggins' spokesman, said that constituents will continue to be served from her five district offices. . . .

The condition is called liberalitis. The symptoms are grave. The site of other people's money sends one into a happy tizzy where no sense of reality exists. In its worst form, it might even cause an orgasmic frenzy.

In its early stages, liberalitis does not impact the brain, but in its later stages it causes deep cranial focus. For instance, an afflicted one will actually come up with a well thought out plan of how to separate other people from their money. This might, in the case of some liberalitis victims, be the first time in their lives that their right brain has actually been used.

Liberalitis victims often suffer from multiple personalities. In their early stages, they may actually think they are Robin Hood. But as the disease progresses, the will beging thinking they are FDR and JFK, and eventually Stalin, Zedung, Hitler, Chavez and Castro.

Wiggins in agitated voice, interrupts committee testfimony: “When are you gonna bring me that — the stupid stuff?” Gets up and charges toward aide, shrieking: “When are you bringing it??” She wanted a glass of water.
