"People understand this is now about elections. You can agitate and suggest that you are nonpartisan, but the truth of that matter is you have to take a position," said Mark Skoda, founder of the Memphis Tea Party and member of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition. "I don't want people to say, 'I'm nonpartisan.' I want them to be partisan as hell."
Not all tea party leaders took that view.
"We're still educating people on how to vote on principles and values and not according to the letter next to somebody's name," said Amy Kremer of the Tea Party Express, the group organizing a rally targeting Democratic Sen. Harry Reid in his hometown of Searchlight, Nev., this Saturday.
The Republicans' unanimous opposition to the healthcare overhaul boosted the party's conservative credentials, but the pressure would still be on to win tea party support, Kremer said. "There are going to be other things that come up. I would not say, 'Oh because they voted this way one time that they get it,' " she said.
Armey and other leaders said they couldn't verify the racial slur occurred because there did not appear to be video of the incident.
"If it happened, we don't know who did it and what affiliations they have," he said.
The incident became a rallying point against Democrats and the media, which tea party activists say has portrayed the movement as dominated by its fringe.
Who cares if the GOP isn't happy with the Tea Party Movement?
And those tea party "leaders" that are all giddy, some are old GOP operatives like Dick Armey who has been making big bucks off of the movement
I like what Amy Kremer of the Tea Party Express says
And the other politicians in this article that seem to believe the lies of the MSM and assorted leftists of racist etc comments made by tea partiers should be ashamed to promote the untruths when if they look at the proof of racism---there isn't any!
happier with the GOP than with the Rats!
The GOP is infested with progressives.
I am tired of all of this looking for the spitter or looking for the one who yelled out baby killer or n*&%er. Folks this is ridiculous. We are feeding the frenzy. What about the names people call Ann Coulter and spit on her? What about the names of people that call Rush and spit on him? This has to stop!!!!! Why are we spending time on looking for a spitter, really. one spitter.
We have to approach November intelligently. The last thing we want is to lose a plurality because of third party influence. Either a GOP or a Tea Partier should run head-to-head against a dem, whether it’s under the GOP banner or not.
I can’t say much about the rest of the country but here in Blue Oregon, the Tea Party movement has had some real success throwing out the GOP old guard.
Frankly I’m more worried about Ron Paul infiltration shattering what we’ve already built.
Ah yes...the old “divide and conquer” ploy. The MSM continues to believe ALL Americans are stupid.
Beware media spin intended to divide and conquer ... this ...
“Who cares if the GOP isn’t happy with the Tea Party Movement?”
... is BS.
The GOP is glad to see that America is riled up and upset with the Democrats in Washington and their attacks on our freedom. Leaders and grassroots both have made it clear. If it was not for Tea Party activism, we couldnt have stalled obamacare this long.
This is fine... “
“We’re still educating people on how to vote on principles and values and not according to the letter next to somebody’s name,” “
... so long as those principles are ‘smaller Government’ and ‘fiscal responsibility’, you HAVE to say NO to the Democrats. (The only issue Repubs have is that sometimes consrevatives vote 3rd party and thereby let Democrats win who should be defeated; united we stand and divided we fall and all that ... but always, vote on principles and the person, not knee-jerk for a party label, that’s the right way.)
Working TOGETHER, we can win in the fall and take back America for Freedom.
“I cant say much about the rest of the country but here in Blue Oregon, the Tea Party movement has had some real success throwing out the GOP old guard.

Same dynamic in our next of the woods.
Ron Paul-ite influence has grown, and other Real Conservatives are back ... the country club moderates are ... either nowhere OR they are made as hell like the rest of us!!
Obama has made us ALL Warriors for Freedom.
Tea Partiers will support the GOP in November because:
1. They have pushed the GOP to the right and successfully enabled them to oppose Obama’s agenda almost to a man in Congress. Not a single vote for the healthcare bill, only 3 votes for the stimulus, and only 7 votes for cap and trade. Honestly, that is very good party disciple, and the tea party folks notice it.
2. Tea Party folks realize that in order to further their cause, that means electing conservative Republicans in primaries, and then supporting Republicans in general elections against Democrats. Tea Party folks realize that Democrats are the enemy of every last ideal they hold dear, and they will be voted out en masse in November. Tea Party folks realize that third party candidates will not deliver anything, and most of the time are fake plants like that clown who is running in Nevada (he was planted by Harry Reid).
Damn right. I’ve never been so eager to vote for the GOP and against Democrats.
they did all hang together on Obamacare, and you have to give credit for that.
They knew they did not want to be entangled into this fuster cluck of a bill.
Yup, put up Tea Party candidates in primaries but the first time a hear a serious third party call, I’m out. I worry that some tea partiers might be Ross Perrot retreads. Three candidate races don’t work. If we can’t get it in the primary just get as many people with an (R) after their name as possible. Then weed the RINO’s out later. Trivialize the Democrat party then get the “moder-rats” out. But we need to give the people something to vote for. Make good law and reduce spending then we can educate moderates as to why they are wrong.
No it's not, who cares?Beware media spin intended to divide and conquer ... this ...
Who cares if the GOP isnt happy with the Tea Party Movement?
... is BS.
It is not important if the GOP isn't happy, tea party activists want what makes our Constitutional Republic happy. Nothing wrong with that.
The rest of your post seems to agree with my general premises, and those of the Tea Party Movement
So do the leaders of the Tea Party Patriots org
Neither of them did.
I have never heard that the GOP is unhappy with the Tea Party Movement.
Those within the Movement do not agree on everything. There are many factions, and I find the Ron Paulers and the LaRouches distrubing, especially the latter. These two are trying to co-opt the Movement, just as they are doing with local elections.
How is Armey making money off the Movement? Who’s to say that he isn’t part of the Movement. I heard him in a debate against Ariana Huffington and Howard Dean. He knocked the ball out of the park. Plus, there are many folks who are making money within the Movement. So what?
I was a Democrat, then a Declined to State until I realized that was just a “feel good” position. At that point I reassessed where I really stood and found it was with the Republicans. I don’t always agree with the Party, but they do hold my core values. I’ll vote GOP.
The elitists need to be cleaned out of the GOP before we clean out the gov’t in general.
Get them out later? Are you kidding me? We couldn’t get them out sooner because the party leaders want that big tent even though the damned thing is always half empty.
I understand what you’re saying but we need to get them out now even if we’re swapping one rino for another. At least some of them might get the messsage.
