The locals love it!Searchlight preparing for thousands to attend Tea Party rally

Searchlight, NV - It's been labeled the showdown in Searchlight. Thousands of conservative Americans are expected to show up in Senator Harry Reid's hometown this weekend for a rally against big government. Business owners and authorities are busy preparing for the large crowd coming to their small desert town.
"I think it's going to be a historical thing."
Virginia Shuda, her husband and friends drove from Bullhead City, Arizona to Searchlight Monday morning to get the lay of the land before Saturday's Tea Party rally.
"I just want less government. That's my big gripe with what's happening; the government is just getting too big," Shuda explains.
Reggie Doing works for his family at the Searchlight Nugget Casino.
"It's great for this town, it's great for our business, it's great for the people of Searchlight. It's also the first time that the city of Searchlight is gonna have national recognition on a major issue that's going on with the whole country."

Thousands expected at Tea Party rally in Reid's hometown of Searchlight
'Showdown' could end up helping Reid as much as hurting him
SEARCHLIGHT -- Sanford and Marilyn Shuler are caught in the middle.
On one side of their Coyote Mines property is Sen. Harry Reid's place.
*snip*
On the other is the site of a Tea Party Express rally coming Saturday, a sort of conservative mini-Woodstock in the desert that organizers expect to draw 5,000 to 10,000 people -- maybe more -- from across the country, most of whom want to end the career of Nevada's most powerful politician.
*snip*
"I think it's an insult to have something like this right in Senator Reid's hometown," said Marilyn Shuler, who wrote a March 1 letter to Reid complaining the event will have a "negative impact" on him and the town.
"It's a slap in the face and he doesn't deserve that. They could have picked a better piece of land."
In contrast, Diane Kendall, the local real estate agent who helped pin down the private property for the "Showdown in Searchlight," embodies the townsfolk who aren't so fond of Reid and support the Tea Party movement's efforts to elect conservatives who believe less government is better government.
"I agree with what the Tea Party people are doing," Kendall said as she surveyed the desolate 160-acre site off an unmarked gravel road where dozens of lonely Joshua trees, sagebrush and various desert critters will soon be joined by thousands of sun-washed spectators and hundreds of RVs, buses, trucks and cars. "It's time for Americans to stand up. It's time for the people to wake up.''
Searchlight has a lot of “beds” available in places where “ladies of the evening “ reside. Some of them even have a piano player in the lobby.
LOL I thought this was going to be smaller. I was hoping to see Palin up close. Wishful thinking.

Here's an amazing report you should watch from NBC-3 out of Las Vegas: http://www.mynews3.com/story.php?id=13627&n=5035
As mentioned in the report, local operators at Lake Mead have scrambled to get houseboats prepared for those of you coming to the Searchlight rally and needing a place to overnight (either the night before the event, the night of the event, or both).
You can reserve one of the few remaining houseboats online via Cottonwood Cove Resorts online here: http://cottonwoodcoveresort.com/contactus.cfm
There's also a toll-free number you can call: 1-800-255-5561
Cheaper hotel and motel accomodations are still available in Laughlin and Las Vegas, which are both about 1-hour from Searchlight (well, 1-hour away on a normal day without traffic).
WARNING: Hotels even in Laughlin are now selling out, so act fast if you want to get a room there. If you cannot find an available room in Laughlin, your next best bet is to try Las Vegas hotels. We obviously want as many people in Laughlin to join us for the big caravan from "Harrah's Laughlin" between 9:30 - 10:00 AM - and then we will all caravan up to the rally site in Searchlight led by the Tea Party Express buses.
Complete details on accomodations and transportation for the "Showdown in Searchlight" can be found at our website here:

P.S. As of today you can still get on a charter bus heading to Searchlight because more groups are still finding buses available at the last minute, and our team is working to match up requests for a bus seat (from people like you) with local organizers who still have room on a bus. To get a seat on one of the buses heading to Searchlight, send your name, city & state in an email: CharterBus.tpx@gmail.com
LOL!
In all truth, my parents, thankfully, were your true blue collar working kind of people, who believed in tanning their kids hide if we even thought about behavior unbecoming of a 22 yr. old.
I wouldn’t have dreamed of attending such an event. My mother, if she found me, would have dragged by skinny posterior onto the stage and beat the living daylights out of me, along with anyone else standing within 50 ft. of her reach. There would have been some major casualties. Serious collateral damage.
As a child growing up, the words which would strike fear in my siblings and I were, “Mom’s comin’”. When mom was made, people would move back like the parting of the Red Sea.
Watch out for Sean Penn and GreenPeace boats. :-]

Las Vegas.
How many times has Harry Reid been elected to office in NV. It is way more than three, isn’t it? People in NV really see something there that we don’t.
ACORN+SEIU+deaddemocrats+illegalinsurgentcriminalalien voters PLUS being connected to the mob is what keeps Reid in office.
It's all about money, power and connections.
The people don't vote politicians into office.
At least the didn't use to.
The times they are a changin’
Time to be pushy!
I’ll be there, but I’m NOT getting naked to roll around in the mud!

Well, you’re no fun. You give a whole new meaning to one being an old “stick in the mud”. LOL!!!
Wish I was going with you all to Searchlight but I could not make the bus... still have a stubborn cold.
Give Dingy a shout out for me..
