We just had our monthly Insurance Committee meeting today, and discussed the timeline for our medical plans, which have a January 1 renewal. It’s true that the subscribers won’t have that higher deduction until then, however we have to approve the renewal months before that, and our open enrollment period will be sometime in October. So, everyone will be seeing the new rates then.

Just my 2 cents, YMMV

Someone else got the idea, “Hospitals and Premium Health-care on Indian Reservations!!!!”

It would benefit the reservations more than casinos and it would be a nice way around this without flying to Costa Rica.

I am lost. Are you saying people need to begin something now? I am on Medicare and have a Dr., I guess I will need to call him as see what he intends to do. Yes?

You say open-enrollment ends Oct 31/2010, so what happens if someone misses that?
*********

If you are on Medicare, there may not be a deadline to re-enroll- you may be permanently enrolled.
You can check their website.

I’ve heard only a snippet of her but maybe she talks well but isn’t all that smart? (kind of reminds you of the Kenyan).

I was told at the Eye Drs. some time ago, that I was not on Medicare (sorry) it is Secure Horizans, I guess Medicare pays them something.

Thanks, I will call my Dr. and see what is needed.

Pre enrollment:? This just sounds horrible, they have already set the time and date for you to sign up with the Nazi SS? How they do that so soon?

Won’t work, Federal land. That is how they got around State laws against Casinos.

Mark Levin was on the other night telling folks they should make Obama follow through on his promise the minute he signed the bill into law: go to your practitioner and demand free services. Go to your insurer and demand a $2500 check for the premium reduction Obama promised

Did Levin say that he would also be doing this? Or was this a 'do as I say, not as I do' incitation?

On specific constitutional grounds, or just “because they worked so hard”?

The Constitution is pretty plain, and unless these “scholars” never completed the first grade they should find the basis for overturning it in Article 1 Section 8, and in the 9th and 10th Amendments. Why must we make things so complicated?

Maybe that’s the best way. Funding of existing items are not subject to veto, are they? Forgive me, almost bedtime.

I became totally deflated after Stacy’s call. The Fox News Legal Analyst both think it won’t be overturned.

I’m just so depressed about this.

I've known for a while that Deathcare was going to pass, and I'm sure they're also going to pass a whole slew of bloated, unconstitutional bills while they still have the majority. I imagine they'll also be written in a way that they will not be able to be repealed when/if Republicans gain the majority and the bills come into effect.

I really don't have much faith that this country can be restored through legislative or judicial means. I imagine the storm on the horizon to be incredibly violent and dark.

“I was told at the Eye Drs. some time ago, that I was not on Medicare (sorry) it is Secure Horizans, I guess Medicare pays them something. “

I think I recognize Secure Horizans name - It is either one of those Medicare Advantage plans or a Medicare Supplement plan. The advantage plans are the ones that Obama is robbing to pay for the new entitlements.

People who get insurance though their employers have an annual opportunity to make changes, which will take effect the following January 1st. The employer’s benefits manager will send out a list of what the current premiums are and what the new premiums will be for each option. I have 4 plans to choose from - catastrophic, 70/30 (that’s insurance/my payment), 80/20, and 100%. The premiums for catastrophic are minuscule. The premiums for 100% coverage are financially catastrophic themselves.

To the best of my knowledge, the funding of existing items is not subject to a veto.

The purpose of an insurance company is not to warn the public or even to provide service.

Its purpose is to survive, collect premiums, make money on the investment, and distribute it to shareholders.

The insurance companies have read the tea leaves which tell them they are destined to be utilities regulated by the federal government. They will survive.

He sure made it sound like he would! Who knows, though.
