I just hate that insurance companies can reject people for preexisting conditions.

Life is not fair! If you know you have it, it isn't insurance. It is "someone else should pay my way"! Is everyone but me a bunch of chronically sick sissies?

That makes no sense.

Because you have something, insurance shouldn’t pay?

Then what is the point of having insurance at all? As long as you have had insurance coverage (and I believe this bill still requires you to have that....you can’t just drop it and expect coverage), you should be covered.

Life isn’t fair, but I am supportive of this provision because there are some things that SHOULD BE moral.

Kicking someone off because they get cancer isn’t moral.

It already is illegal for group plans, just not individual.

All this does is extend that to the individual plans as well, which may encourage more people to start small businesses if they aren’t terrified of their insurance dropping them because of things out of their control.

No, some of us were born with birth defects and can not get insurance. I take that back. When I had a government job, I had great insurance.

But,when I started my own small business—a business the employs people and pays taxes, and provides them with insurance, I was unable to get insurance for myself because of my preexisting condition.

Thankfully, I am blessed and healthy. But, I had six surgeries before I was five years old, so insurance is out of the question.

You are right of course, there is a simple fix for my problem. I can go be a government employee again.
