I see a situation where the states secede and the government declares a war. If there were to be conflict, could not begin with the government taking the first shots?
for the past couple yrs the lines have been redefined and highlighted to a point that we all know where said line is...
ive been poo-pood for my defiance of seatbelt & helmets, sobriety/insurance 'checkpoints', child support, dui/drugs ad nauseum until i felt as if i was virtually alone in a desire of imagined freedom...
we know the gov is all thumbs and will eventually start killin people...that will prolly be what it takes to finally galvanize the resistance...itll hafta be HUGE and vs a not easily villified group to motivate the remaining fencesitters...we could only be so 'lucky' if a group of peaceful teapartiers were whacked on live tv...anything short of that i think will be 'ho-hum, back to american idol' and we'll still be like Gilligan, lost on our lil island [prison cell]...
the able trained and equipped have a shot at gettin some balance of power back, in a very small window of opportunity, and once anything goes down to implement any sort of martial law, there wont be anything left but waiting for the navy to pick us up from our lil islands one at a time...
/incoherant rant...
you forgot your /sarc tag
God bless you!
The REAL problem is that most conservative parents think that they can overcome the leftist indoctrination from the public schools by teaching conservatism in the home. Most may be right, but what about the REST of the students??
“throw down gun”
What’s a throw down gun?
Well I see both sides of this argument. I think the Velvet Revolution (which was really just splitting the Soviet synthetic country "Czechoslovakia" into it's two organic parts, is the classic non-violent revolution. Some of the others seemed pretty reasonable as examples too.
The fall of the USSR, however, is a whole different beast. To claim the fall only occurred right at that point in 1989 is to overlook the entire cold war. But the cold war happened, it consisted of equal parts propaganda, espionage and proxy wars. The proxy wars included Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Angola, Cuba, Afghanistan, and many others. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions) died in these wars.
All of them, together, put and kept tremendous pressure on the USSR, which eventually cracked and fell.
So, IMHO the Cold War with the USSR can not be considered bloodless.
the current and historical events arent the onset of the disease, they are the stinkin decomposition of life w/o a moral compass...judgement, so to speak...
some major repentence and a fierce determination to turn off all the evil avenues of further corruption are the only hope...
I see the Tea Party movement as a model for resistance -
leaderless, grassroots, “ad hoc”, and massive.
Back at you Ace. And no.... You don’t get to count milling around in a crowd little a good little sheep.
travis, most of em will be lookin forward to the promised 'hot shower'...
Indian Independence...predicated on the Christian sensibilities of the british.
Apartheid...you never heard of a “necklace?”
Woman’s suffrage England, Woman’s suffrage US, US Civil rights movement,...not revolutions.
Lech Walesa’s Solidarity in Poland...due to loss of Soviet sponsorship.
etc....
The point you are missing is “a few right wing nuts” is NOT a revolution.
Not here at least...
“Zimbabwe On The Potomac...”
Where a middle aged college radical rediscovers his “inner Mugabe”
when CWII starts Keyboard Courage will not count for very much when the lead flies...
This flag flies on my flagpost. The original had the letters T-E-X-A-S around the star points. It was the de Zavala flag - one of the first flags of the Republic of Texas; therefore, the Bonnie Blue is doubly special for me.
Don't kid yourself...you're even affraid to "talk."
Your cable and sat TV monthly bill is keeping them in power. Your bill is divided up so each network gets $1 to 3 a month. As long as we enable and finance TV - the left will be in charge.
They will smear decent Republicans like Ryan, Boehner, Palin and others 24x7x365 while Democrat moles like Graham and McCain get a free pass.
“US surrender in Vietnam”
The US didn’t surrender in Vietnam.
Nixon’s Vietnamization program had worked.
Our troops were out; South Vietnam was defending itself.
Then the communist slime in the US congress voted to cut off aid to South Vietnam.
That’s not surrender; that’s the vilest form of betrayal.
Good shot ;-)
