Bart Stupak's vote for the health bill shows that in the end you can't count on prolife Democrats.
And then there were none.
When Bart Stupak announced Sunday he was now a "yes" on the health-care bill, six Democrats stood with him. Even that handful would have been enough to defeat the bill. Instead, they accepted the fig leaf of an executive order—and threw away all the hard-won gains they had made.
Amid the recriminations it's easy to overlook what Mr. Stupak had cobbled together. His amendment restricting federal funding for abortions, passed in November, marked the only bipartisan vote in this whole health-care mess. For the first time since Roe v. Wade, pro-life Democrats had seized the legislative initiative in the teeth of their leadership's opposition—and brought the party of abortion to heel.
Now Mr. Stupak has thrown it away. By caving at the last hour, he discredited all who stood with him. (What does it say about Ohio's Marcy Kaptur and Pennsylvania's Chris Carney that they had already agreed to vote yes even before the fig leaf of the executive order had come through?) In addition to undermining an encouraging partnership with pro-lifers across the congressional aisle, Mr. Stupak signaled that, in the end, you can't count on pro-life Democrats.

If you listened to any of the Stupak interviews it was clear that he wanted to vote for the bill. He had no problems with this takeover of the American health industry by the Federal Government. None at all. He just comes from a district that has, I assume, a pro-life majority and he wanted cover for his vote. Just another socialist. We need to vote him out of office and replace him with an American.

Bendict Arnold at least was heart broken for what he had done plus he had been a hero. Stupak you always have been slime and always will be. You have no honor. Catholics in his district and the clergy should shun this stinking rat.
We see this with Republicans too, especially the big pro-abortion type Republicans that suddenly become “prolife” for an upcoming election campaign.
Mitt was committed to protecting abortion rights even after he claimed to have made the switch to pro-life for his primary run.

This cannot be overemphasized! There have been many people who have claimed that an individual can be both pro-life and pro-collectivism. This has been a lie all along. The essence of collectivism is that human life itself is subservient to the collectivist cause. It is time to call the “pro-life Democrats” out! Do you believe that God is master, or is it man? Are we to be free or slaves to human tyranny? The time to choose is now!
