If someone were looking to purchase a revolver (.357 or .41 Mag) or a semi (9mm or 45) what would you recommend? Budget < $700.00.

Takes TWO hands to get started from empty chamber with semi-auto, revolver takes only one. Sometimes makes a big difference. Also no fumbling for safty, etc. with excitement running high.

I carry a HK P7M8 — for which I paid way less than this $700 limit. Today, I couldn’t replace it for twice that. What HK is under $700 nowadays?

What kind of shape is that beast in after firing that box of FMJ rapid fire? And will it reliably feed a variety of JHP loads?

Revolver/Semi: that needs to be settled first.
I agree 100%. That being said, here is what I recommend in your price range.
1911-A1 variant- Taurus makes a nice one. I shot one a couple of weeks ago. It is a great gun for the price.
9mm- CZ-75 is hard to beat.
Revolvers- Charter Arms, pick your caliber of choice.

Just get a Taurus Judge Magnum and be done with it.

And feel free to post gun porn pics! Ok! Here's my latest acquisition, a Beretta model 1915/1919 in .32 ACP, manufactured in 1928.
Mind you, I'm not recommending this as someone's first gun!

I had the same thing happen to me, too. They tied us up and the only thing they stole was my guns. There must be a Jackalope crime syndicate here in the West.

Thats a nice collectors piece! I have a Mauser that is around the same age and size. It isn’t something you want to take to a gunfight.

I shopped for quite a while and finally settled on a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible in .357 mag. Comes with an extra cylinder in 9 mm, so you in effect have three arms in one.....357, .38 Special, and 9 mm. Shoots like a dream. ‘Course I lost mine in a poker game a while back to some stranger........

Springfield Armory XDM, an excellent choice!
9mm ammo is cheapest, then .40S&W, then .45ACP. A .45 certainly has the most stopping power, but a 9mm would suffice.

I still think its funny that Glocks stovepipe and Hi Points dont. LOLGlocks only stovepipe for those with limp wrists.
For instance I would not recommend to Barney Frank, Liberace, Prince, Clay Aiken, Rahm Emmanuel, Boy George or Barack Obama to get a Glock. A Bobcat perhaps. Or maybe a Tomcat if they workout.
