The sun came up this morning
American Thinker ^ | March 22, 2010 | Rick Moran

Posted on 03/22/2010 1:46:13 PM PDT by kingattax

Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding, the sun did indeed rise in the east this morning. Just like it did yesterday and like it will do tomorrow.

Our faith in the regularity and predictability of the sun's appearance every morning mirrors the faith we should have in America.

The USA has been around for 234 years - Constitutional government a bit less.

Over that time, we have survived calamities worse than Obamacare - tragedies that shook the nation to its very foundation as Obamacare has done.

But somehow, there were enough people who continued to have faith in America, in its people, and in its principles that we survived the rough patches and found our way back.

I'm with John Paul Jones, this is just beginning. We won't roll over and play dead.

I still have in my head nan walking down that street with the gavel in her hands laughing along with those other traitors. That's all I need to keep me fired up.

Yup,the sun did come up this morning. But as of last night I learned that my death will come sooner than it otherwise would have (very possibly *much* sooner) and that the remaining years that I *do* have will be less healthy than they otherwise would have been.

I can nuke Washington D.C. tonight, and the Sun will also rise tomorrow too. Is this some sort of liberal stupid speak?

They didn't give up. Why are some of you?

Because in the history of the US we have never been able to abolish a governmental department or defund a major social program?

Not saying it can't be done, but its gonna take a major upheaval and some considerable dislocation to do.

I'm up for it, but someones gonna get hurt.

That's the spirit. I am so tired of the moaners. The left is in an untenable position. They are way ahead of their supply lines and extremely vulnerable to attack. There is a genuine chance to reverse the longstanding trend toward statism. Conservatives haven't had an opportunity like this since 1946. Carpe diem. Pray the GOP doesn't blow it by resurrecting Tom Dewey to run in 2012.

It is going to be very difficult to get this overturned w/o the intervention of the courts. If we wait too long, most people will buy this as another right, just like social security and medicare. In that case, it won’t get repealed until there catastrophic happens and it literally wrecks the country. We took a huge blow yesterday and I don’t know if we can recover, even with a victory in November.

Yes, and the sun continued to rise and set all during the brutal reign of the USSR in Eastern Europe too. ...and during the rule of Pol Pot's murderous regime. ...and during the Holocaust.

What's your point?

The sun will continue to rise, sometimes over horrible periods of brutality, oppression and injustice.

Maybe someone needs to, for Americans to understand what America is all about again.

Just sayin'.

“But somehow, there were enough people who continued to have faith in America.”

I’m sorry, I no longer have any faith in my country. I fear my government and I especially fear my countrymen. They have become a pulsating appetite with no self control or self respect. They have accepted a childish answer to life instead of an adult one and they expect me and my family to cover their childishness. These are dangerous people, to be avoided, feared and fought. Bottom line, I believe in God and my family. Outside of that circle, I view everything as a threat to my freedom and security. Obama has delivered the “envious” society, I am just reacting rationally to its character. If you wish goodwill, you are obliged to demonstrate it.

Ouch! We are not done yet even if it does not look good at this point.

If there had been an internet in 1814, would the reaction to the British burning of Washington, D.C. have been "Woe is us! All is lost! Freedom and independence are gone!"

Sadly, there have been a few threads today where "courageous" FReepers have expressed such a defeatist attitude.

I don't get it. And I certainly don't want these cowards in my foxhole.

This reminds me of the Battle of the Bulge. The Germans pushed thru and it looked really bad for the Allies. Gen Patton looked at it like “they stuck their head in the noose and now we are going hang them”
In Novemeber, A lot of scores will be settled. We now have a reason to punish those who seek to destroy the country. They have put their heads in the noose, and we will pull the lever.
