DeMint to Introduce Bill to Repeal ObamaCare
March 21, 2010 - WASHINGTON, D.C - Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) announced that he will introduce legislation this week to repeal President Obama's government takeover of health care. House Democrats voted this evening to pass the Senate version of the health care bill and it will likely be signed into law by President Obama later this week.
"This bill is unconstitutional and it cannot be fixed. It must be repealed," said Senator DeMint. "The battle for health care freedom is not over and I will introduce legislation this week to repeal this health care takeover.
"Unless this trillion-dollar assault on our freedoms is repealed, it will force Americans to purchase Washington-approved health plans or face stiff penalties. It will fund abortions, raise taxes and insurance premiums, while reducing health care choices and quality."
"This arrogant power grab proves that the President and his party care more about government control than the will of the American people. Americans told Washington to keep its hands off their health care in opinion polls, at public protests, and at the ballot box, but their pleas were ignored.
"If the President and Democrats were serious about true health care reform, there were many free-market solutions we could have easily passed. Americans support commonsense reforms such as purchasing coverage across state lines, stopping frivolous medical lawsuits, and giving the same tax breaks to Americans who don't get their insurance at work. Unfortunately, Democrats refused to listen."
The bill passed in the House today raids $52 billion from Social Security, cuts nearly $500 billion from Medicare, and doesnt account for the hundreds of billions Congress must pass to pay doctors who treat elderly patients.

Then there will be no difference in the makeup of the Court ideologically. Stevens may have been a Republican appointee but is the most liberal Justice. Ginsberg was a Clinton appointee.
It’s scary...A jackass flops on the ground with 5 rounds in it’s head and some people see a race horse, and start making bets.
Harrumph. I voted for McCain. I sent him money and I couldn’t believe America would elect a communist. I was wrong but I showed up. I made the calls. I did the signs. I wrote the check and all the GOP did was grab Steele to look hip and then beg for more money to promote the same middle of the road junk that cost them the election. If you work your kiester off for the GOP and all you get is loss after loss by moderate losers.... why bother?
ditto’s
Keep bumping this one!
Why dont you keep your cry baby a** off of these threads. Every thread you are whining about how we are done for. If you truly believe that take the advice I gave you already and get the he** out of this country. As I said before, we would be a lot better without people like you in it.

Obama said at the White House shortly after the House voted: "This isn't radical reform, but it is major reform."
To our Prez I say...
Who’s he kidding...its all BS.
Yeah, I agree. State AGs should lodge their lawsuits. Whoever has standing should start challenging the “individual mandate” issue. This idea of an insta-repeal is absurd.
Does DeMint not understand basic math and parliamentary procedures? If not, what the hell is he doing in Congress. If he does understand basic math and parliamentary procedures, then he’s just grandstanding.
Tie the Repeal to every bill comes to the floor. Block the Dr. Fix unless it has the repeal attached. Let them choke on the issue and vote on it every time they vote.
God bless DeMint. I know this is more rhetorical than anything else, we’ll need a new president and congress before we can make this happen, but at least he’s still got fight.
Thank you, Senator DeMint! I’ve been a fan of his for a while:
