I can have sympathy for a coward who hide at the first sign of trouble, much like I can have sympathy for for a sick dog. I can even respect an adversary whom I disagree with. They at least are standing for what they believe in.

But I hate a sell sword who puffs up his chest, and claims to stand for something, only to get his thirty silver coins to betray the ones he once claimed to protect. Such as that are not to be trusted. Either by those they betrayed or by those who have purchased their services for the evening. For in the end, they are nothing but harlots.

Take a stand. If you're position changes by debate, so be it. But don't take a stand only to change because you got some more loot from the public coffers.
