Schlafly: Health Care Vote Set to Expose the Myth of the 'Pro-Life Democrat'
Yahoo News ^ | 03/21/10 | PR Newswire

WASHINGTON, March 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Phyllis Schlafly, president and founder of the conservative grassroots public policy organization Eagle Forum, made the following remarks after the public announcement that formerly pro-life Democrat Bart Stupak (D-MI) will cast a "yes" vote for the Senate health care bill today in the House:

"It is naive for any elected official, especially one who describes himself as 'pro-life,' to expect that a promise to issue an Executive Order that reasserts the intentions of the Hyde Amendment will be fulfilled by the most pro-abortion president to ever sit in the White House. Perhaps Mr. Stupak and his fellow pro-life Democrats forget that President Obama's first Executive Order was the repeal of the Mexico City Policy to allow for international funding of abortion."

Regards Stupak, game, set, match. I'll add: It's worse than naive.

Why aren’t these Dems booted out of the Catholic church???

A vote for Dems is a vote for abortion. That’s clear. This includes any local election as well as that gives them a springboard to higher office.

Why are Stupadactyls allowed to fly in modern politics?

I absolutely agree with Mrs. Schlafly. This label should also be applied to any Christian that is a member of the demo-rats or associates with the demo-ratic party to include the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The USCCB went along with the demo-rats to try to get health care passed without regard to the fact that ALL demo-rats are “pro” baby killers. Just look at their platform...abortion is part of it.

http://www.democrats.org/page/-/pdf/dem-platform.pdf

And I quote:
“Choice

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.”

Sincerely,

JoMa

Just like that sleezy Ben Nelson, who conned pro-lifers for years, with pro-life votes on bills he knew would never pass. the myth of pro-life democrats have been exposed.

When their pro-life vote mattered most, they ran for the hills.

Kick every single one of them out.
EVERY SINGLE ONE!

Pelosicrats and the Party Of Murder. Come young, come old, we will not discriminate who we kill. You will pay some now and a whole lot more later. When you are broke we will send you to the Processing Center to better establish a more certain future for you. Don’t be afraid, this pill will help you relax.

The more I think about it, the more I think that the commie ‘RAT bass turd, Stupak, was a decoy to get those opposing CommieCare to concentrate on abortion rather than the cost, the rationing, the death panels, etc. Stupak was part of the ‘RAT setup. We were snookered. IMHO.

No, we must make him pay as an example. With my meager funds, I will make sure that this turd will not be a congressman for long...

“Pelosicrats and the Party Of Murder.”

That nails it with a railroad spike, what else can be said?

Here’s one prolife Dem who voted no:

“BREAKING: Rep. Berry will vote against the Health Care Bill

Rep. Marion Berry just announced today that he will vote against the health care bill citing concerns about federal funds being used for abortion and well as concerns that the bill goes too far.

“Throughout this debate, I have stood by my conviction that the Senate health care reform bill does not adequately address the issue of federal funds being used to pay for abortions,” said Berry. ”Despite the recently announced Executive Order addressing this issue, I remain concerned that this legislation does not go far enough to satisfy my concerns. As a pro-life Member of Congress, I believe that abortion is fundamentally wrong, and taxpayer money should not be allowed to support it.”’

This prolife Dem, Rep. Berry, was not fooled by the Executive Order and rightfully so. The Executive Order won’t be the Law of the Land and can be turned around again.

Is anyone here from Arkansas?

No such thing as a pro-life Democrat. No such thing as a moderate Democrat. And no such thing as a conservative Democrat.

They have revealed themselves to be socialists at best, marxists at worse.

They are traitors and enemies of the United States, deserving of due justice.

Phyllis Schlafly is right. It warms my heart to see folks like her stand up and be counted on issues like this.

It frames the Democrats for who they are. Excellent.

Judas at least got a handful of silver. Stupak got a piece of paper with Zero’s autograph on it.

That’s been my thinking all along. This has always been about so much more than just abortion...yet, in these past few weeks, you’d think that all it has been about is abortion. That’s another one of the big lies. Yes, abortion is a very important part, but only one part of many very bad aspects of this irresponsible, unconstitutional piece of garbage ever perpetrated on the American public.

Here’s another thing...those pro-life Democrats who will NOW come out and vote no, are only doing so because they already have the votes to pass...so these rats are off the hook. Believe you me, if Pelosi needed every Democrat’s vote, they’d all be voting her way. Period.
