Democrats are worried about holding their members together on a GOP motion that could kill the healthcare bill.
Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) said House leaders are specifically concerned about a Republican motion to recommit that would contain only language on abortion that Stupak originally had wanted to include in the Senate bill.

I don’t think I have ever been prouder then I am with this group of Republicans in the House led by Boehner, Pence and Cantor that features Paul Ryan. They have fought tooth and nail to keep this from happening against all odds.
Majority Leader Boehner has my total respect for how he has handled himself through all of this. He is the Congressman of my home town and he is serving the people very well. Republicans have stood tall during this whole process wanting the Democrats to follow the Rules which they keep skirting.
Someone I know was doing some work at the church and made a comment about Obama and the priest said he was “evil.”
NAH...we need to distribute Congress out to their districts....they can operate in their districts with today’s technology...there is NO reason for them all to be in DC, drinking the koolaid from lobbyists, etc.....
Agree with you totally. Ryan has impressed me with his grasp of the numbers and civil discourse. I can’t find one democrat that holds a candle to him.
Two timely quotes from Winston Churchill come to mind:
* Let our advance worrying become advance thinking and planning.
* Never, never, never give up.
Is Stupak so stupid as to think that an EO supercedes legislation? I hope they do use the Motion to Recommit might as well have as many commercials to run against the commies as possible in November!
Thanks!
Sounds like a good church and a good priest.
Traitors are always worried about the law.
Not when they have an ace in the Holder at the DOJ.
I honestly can’t keep track of all these crazy procedures.
Is this really possible???......
“If enough Democrats with Republicans backed the motion to recommit the bill to committee, it would effectively kill the healthcare bill.”
As far as I am concerned every Democrat voted for their current leadership who is putting us through this and deserve to lose.
Admit that I didn’t even know who Paul Ryan was until Dr. Coburn came out with his bi-cameral healthcare bill and I looked him up. He never gets flustered and keeps coming back with facts. We are so lucky to have him on our side standing up for what is right.
EVERY DEM. Now I know how the south felt. Being a northerner, it was hard to figure out. But, this is much more insidious, because, they’re going to enslave everyone, regardless of race. Now, I’m part of it. I’m the north fighting slaves, and I’m the south fighting states rights. So, the healthcare fight will be drawn upon racists lines, because the media will report it as such. They’ll never report it as a constitutional issue, and won’t teach the masses about our constitution. They’ll keep the freeloaders confused. Republicans bad = Democrats give you everything you don’t have to work for all for free!
This is Obama’s utoptia. This is his hope and change. Destroy America.
Only, we won’t let him.
Agree 100% — I am originally from Ohio and Oklahoma wasn’t even a state during the Civil War.
Everything these days gets put into the racist category.
“It seems to me like they vote for the amendment to not fund abortions. But in turn that means it goes back to the Senate where it is dead. OR... they vote against it (which is ONLY abortion language), which means that HC passes, but they have now labeled themselves as pro-abortion.
It is a no win situation for the Stupack guys.
Yes = against abortion, against HC
No = for abortion, for HC
did I get that right?”
Yes, you got it right. It is that simple.
The key though is for the Republicans to make the motion ONLY on the Stupak abortion language. This way, either these two-faced so-called pro-life Dems will be exposed as the frauds they are, or the bill will die.
Enjoyed your Churchill quotes. If you’re interested in the latest Churchill biography, check out Paul Johnson’s. I’m halfway through and am finding it pithy. It is thin but essential.
He is so stupid that he thinks we are stupid not to see through his excuses.
60+. Any change in text and it is 60+. That is why the Recommit is useful. If it does not work, at least the votes are recorded for use in election ads.
I had a great-great-great grandfather and four great-great-great uncles who fought for the Union in Ohio's 8th Cavalry.
America is not just a nationality, a mass of land but an idea -- our rights come from Nature's God not from Gov't. Do we believe the role of Govt is provide equal opportunity for its people or is the gov't role to equalize people's lives... We have seen this movie before and know how it ends. European system is a failure and not one we should adopt..... Americans are engaged from Scott Brown's victory to protestors outside. America we are listening -- let's bring down the bill.
Wish I could have typed all his words but the tears prevented my seeing the keyboard.
