Another eye-opening article (though my eyes have been opened for a while now). All these years we thought what we were seeing was just the back-and-forth between two American political parties—we thought when the berlin Wall fell, then the Soviet union, that the war had been won—how wrong we were, America is the plum prize.
This comes together in the problem sometimes discussed by Austrian economists: the “Calculation Problem”. For in fact a socialist economy cannot be prosperous due to the inability of the socialist central planner to understand what his costs and profits are. When the central planner mucks in what things cost at one layer, he destroys essential cost information at the other layers and thus cannot efficiently allocate finite resources.
The instant the central planner directs the economy to produce something for less than it really costs is the instant the economy starts to die. And since he cannot see real costs, he cannot see real profits. The more he mucks in the economy, the more all his cost and price figures are just pure nonsense, even as he accounts for every line item to the penny and certifies it under FASB and SOX.
Since all the socialists are also Keynesians who believe that the more the government borrows and prints, the better off we all will be, then we have roaring inflation. But still being the good bureaucrats they are, they keep track of every program and directive to the very penny. We thus meticulously account for those pennies without knowing or caring what the penny is worth from one month, quarter or year to the next.
There was a time when we were prosperous enough to tolerate and entertain the socialist's demands, for they really weren't worth smashing down entirely. We cannot any longer afford the luxury of misspending any of our hard earned money. We now must vigorously resist, repel and repeal all socialist proposals. Our lives, fortunes and those of our children are now at stake.
Psychopathic frauds. No conscience, no loyalty, no honor. Worse are those who accompodated them (CNN MSNBC etc)

Exactly! Joe McCarthy was RIGHT! America has been under Communist infiltration for DECADES. IIRC, Marx himself thought that either America or England would be the first Communist states.

Endless sob stories about health care, no discussion of why we must pay for the poor planning, bad decisions of others. No discussion of the extraordinary tradition of Americans happily sacrificing to help the truly needy vs. using the power of government to destroy freedom in the name of good works.
