Nye, No [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
From the Virginian-Pilot:
U.S. Rep. Glenn Nye announced Saturday night he is voting against against the Democratic health care bill today, saying it doesnt do enough to lower the cost of health care.
Over the past year, I have spoken with countless small business owners, families, medical professionals, and average citizens across Virginias 2nd District, and it became very clear that this bill was not the right solution for Virginias health care challenges, Nye said in a written statement. There were many strong points in this bill that I would have been happy to support individually, but the package as a whole had serious problems.

It will be irrelevant even if the socialists ram this through Congress! Any federal version of health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care! The people are not bound to comply with any unconstitutional act of Congress! The people are the government and will have the final say as to how they will be governed! These points need to be conveyed to Congress critters!
Saying it doesn’t do enough to lower the cost of health care is rather like saying gasoline doesn’t do enough to dampen a fire. Still his NO vote is appreciated.
How can that be? FOX says they have 217-218 without Stupak and company. I also saw Dick Morris on Huckabee...first time I’ve seen him pessimistic...said he’s going after eight traitors in particular in November. Of course, the horse will be long out of the barn by then. I keep praying.
Yes, if it just cost a little less he wouldn’t mind rationing health care, giving Grandma a pain pill, and driving away our doctors.
There aren’t even 435 votes because of the recent departures. There are 431 it appears.
I know; that’s why it only takes 216.
Let's say they are correct. This is not catastrophic. That means there are about 40 dems in red districts that need to make a choice.
One of two things happen. Either one of them votes no in an attempt to save his ass, or there are 40 dems who will be ousted in November.
There are 431 possible voters, Fox’s numbers don’t add up.
To heck with Fox News. I have been following a progressive website that actually has a very good roll call count going. I saw someone mention the site here at FR.

Add CNN has a list of how Dems voted last time: http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2010/03/politics/health.care.votes/index.html
I should update my post to you given that NYE is a no.

Fox isn’t saying “The vote will be 217 to 218”, but “The Democrats have between 217 and 218 Yes votes even without the Stu Pack, so they can pass the bill”
If there are 208 against compared to 205 for it, and 10 leaning toward no with an aditional 8 undecided, it actually looks good for our side. Am I missing something?
But nothing is for certain.
They are still just working out who will be the sacrificial lambs.
All who vote No should be listed— their loyalty to freedom should make them “safe” like the French Nobles who sided with the people in the Revolution. Their jobs should be safe in the next election. Some did so at great peril and in the face of Obama’s endless anger. They should be rewarded—even RINOs like Scott Brown.
I will contribute to any dem who stands with us (regardless of why) if we defeat this monstrosity. We can fight another day.
