As Tom said in the video clip, Lois Capps needs to spend more time AT HOME with her grand kids!!
Ron Dog, could you please ping the Ventura area FReepers? Thanks!
He’s got my vote.
He’s got my vote!
Not that I know Tom from Adam, but would like to have the chance to ask relevant questions, in a vanguard conservative forum such as FreeRepublic, that pertain to CA and the nation in these very trying times.
I live in the District. He has my vote but to be honest until now I haven’t heard of him. More local ads need to run - They need to run now especially after the Obamacare vote. Louise Capps has a corner on the liberal SB City College, UCSB, and SLO college campuses.
Does that include Oxnard? (Yeah, I know, what’s an Oxnard.)
I’ll tell my folks. My dad is ex-Navy-—Go Navy!
My wife and I moved to SB just over a year ago and I am happy to see someone run that I can feel good about sending to clean up congress.
Tom may be a fine candidate. But I don’t see what being a Navy pilot has to do with it.
Remember Navy ace Randy “Duke” Cunningham, now serving a prison sentence for corruption?
I live in Santa Maria. I’d like to hear more about this guy. Put me on any current or future ping list, please.
Then he needs to be screaming VERY loudly about the Cut & Gut to the Military’s health ins.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:
http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html
This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf
Impact of Medicare Reimbursement Rate Decrease on TRICARE
http://www.tricare.mil
On March 3, Congress passed emergency legislation delaying the 21.2 percent decrease in Medicare reimbursement rates for an additional 30 days. The TRICARE Management Activity greatly appreciates Congress’ swift action as it allowed more time to fully evaluate the impact the decrease in Medicare reimbursement rates will have on the TRICARE program.
Whatever the outcome, TRICARE will take at least 30 days to fully understand the impact on TRICARE and take appropriate action. While federal law requires TRICARE reimbursement rates to be equal to Medicare rates to the extent practical, the law does permit TRICARE to make exceptions to ensure an adequate network of providers or to eliminate a situation of severely impaired access to care.
More information about this legislation and its impact on TRICARE will be posted on the TRICARE.mil website as soon as it becomes available.
Dems Stiff Soldiers: Health Care Plan Will NOT Protect Military Health Plans
Atlas Shrugs ^ | March 20, 2010 | Pamela Geller
Trillions for his goons, the unions, the ACORNS, the AmericCorps that suck the lifeblood out of the hard-working American, the soul of America — the ones who play by the rules .... and now the military.
Democrats’ Plan Will NOT Protect Military Health Plans
http://www.gop.gov/blog/10/03/20/democrats-plan-will-not-protect
From House Republican Policy:
*9.2 million military personnel, families and retirees don’t deserve a back room deal?
“Although the health care legislation passed by the House explicitly exempted TRICARE from being affected, the Senate bill did not. Unfortunately, the parliamentary rules of tof the reconciliation process did not allow for the inclusion of language that specficially protects these programs.” — Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-MO)
Background: On March 18, 2010, just days before the House votes on the Democrats government takeover of health care, House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-MO) announced he would introduce legislation to preemptively state that TRICARE and the Department of Defense non-appropriated fund (NAF) health plans meet all of the health care requirements currently under consideration by Congress for individual health insurance. TRICARE and the NAF health plans programs provide health coverage to members of the military and their families, military retirees and their families, and employees of U.S. military post/base exchanges. Chairman Skelton even stated he would also insert this legislative language into the national defense authorization bill, reiterating the threat the health care bill currently poses to military health plans. This is an explicit admission that the final Democrat health care bill does not protect these plans.
Military Protections Scrapped: The Senate-passed health care bill, which the House is expected to deem passed on March 21, 2010, omitted protections for military health plans that were included in the House bill.

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w
http://www.navytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w/
By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009
Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees in fiscal 2010, Matz said. We took them at their word, and I cant believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward, he added.
Thanks to Freeper Yorkie!
Well, Reps Buck McKeon, (R) CALIF, Geoff Davis, (R) Kentucky, Steve Buyer (R) Indiana were trying to get an amendment passed to protect Tri-Care and Tri-Care for Life, (if Obamacare passes tomorrow), but it was knocked down by the Dems, because they said the Republicans were just trying to stall the vote - and there was NOTHING in the bill that would stop Tri-Care from caring for our Vets and Ret. Vets and families. It got pretty heated, especially by Rep. Geoff Davis. He was near tears over what this bill is going to do to Tri-Care!
Yeah, and there’s Naval Academy grad and RINO-extraordinaire Juan McQueeg. That’s why I’d like to speak with Tom and let him share his views on subjects ranging from the fiscal, social, to the Constitutional.
23 includes Port Hueneme- close to Oxnard.
You’ll likely run in to my folks at his campaign stops!
Roger that!
Thanks for the homework assignment for Tom. If I get the chance I will pass it along.
The more informed he is the better. No place carries more info than FR. And when commie rags like Mother Jones tells me 0 is cut & gutting my Medicare, and then I learn about the Tricare cut & gut, it makes it even worse. My husband is 70 retired Navy Senior Chief. Both are our health care. BTW Admined out of the same agency.
“Tom may be a fine candidate. But I dont see what being a Navy pilot has to do with it.”
Annapolis, third generation, Navy ... sounds familiar. Not a slam, mind you. Not at all. But we have had experience with another fellow with this background.
With which company is he involved? And in what capacity? Is it a military supplier?
