As part of today's rally to stop the Democrats' health care reform legislation thousands of protesters descended on the lawn of Capitol building. But many more were also using the occasion to visit the their congressional representative and tell them what they think of the bill.
However, Capitol Police recently stopped allowing any of the peaceful protesters to enter into congressional buildings. Crowds are now gathering in front of the House and Senate offices, demanding that they be let in to air their constituent concerns.

Since this isn’t happening in the senate there’s really no reason for them to be there but neither have voted for the bill when they had it in the senate.

The police would use their tasers nowadays.

So we the people cannot enter the Capitol, peacefully? What BS.
Congressional office buildings.
To: mewzilla
FWIW, I think its healthy for government to be a little afraid of its people.
So did Thomas Jefferson.
To: cookiedough
Tasers are good for single suspects, but they are pretty much worthless for crowds.

Amazing that Democrats’ are attempting a socialist takeover of America and all some of you on a conservative forum , all you can do is bash Republicans about something you have no idea about, something you have no clue of what is going on up there or what processes they have to go through etc..
Maybe you are democrats or just something is wrong with you people that criticize Republicans all the time when Democrats are performing a socialist coup of America:”The Republicans should be doing x , y , z etc. waa waa, blah , blah, why aren't the Republicans doing a, b, c waaa waa blah” . yeah why aren't you up there protesting? all you and your ilk can do is bash Republicans.
Republicans have gone out to the crowd and then rushed back in to vote and debate the Democrats/Marxists and fight inside where they need to be to keep the Democrats from cheating and winning the debate for the undecided.
here are pictures of REpublican Pence and Bachmann out with the crowd today:

I thank the 25k who attended . but 25k isn't going to cut it. We need hundreds of thousands to attend. I guess many can't be bothered enough to be pulled away from the TV , watching what is it that basketball thing on? We need more, spread the word, email talk show hosts so they campaign for larger protests. Czechoslovakia which is a tiny country smaller than most states managed to have hundreds of thousands protesting which crippled the city and brought down the communist government peacefully. We in the U.S.A need to do the same and bring stop this bill and bring down THIS communist government in DC.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/analysis/31580.stm In the space of just a few weeks in November 1989, the Communist system in Czechoslovakia was brought to its knees. Massive protests on the streets of Prague - often several hundred thousand strong - forced the resignation of the hard-line Communist Party leadership in what became known as "the velvet revolution."

There was short notice, for one thing. And more than a few people live 2 or 3 thousand miles away. I would love to be there. But health won’t permit me to drive for 4 days straight sleeping in a cargo van. I wish I could. Maybe if there is a local or west coast satellite place.
