"BREAKING NEWS House Dems will not "deem" Senate health bill passed"
(Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
They might have the votes or they might not, but I don’t think that is the reason “Deem & Pass” has been abandoned.
I think the discussion in this mornings Rules Committee pretty much determined that is just wasn’t going to work as they had planned.
I believe they are actually in full panic mode now. The “cover” is blown and they will have to vote and sign their names to the Senate version of the bill.
This may put even greater pressure on the “undecided” and make some of those who’ve already committed their votes to reconsider that decision.
They might still pull it off but it’s getting more painful for them by the minute.
I think we all have figured out that obama does not care what the contitution says or feels he needs to follow laws so......
What/who is the enforcement arm of the Supreme Court? Let’s say they pass this bill, O signs it into law. Immediately several states etc file suit and the USSC rules the entire thing unconstitutional.
Obama the wanna-be despot gives the middle finger to the Supreme’s and orders the heads of all agencies involved to enforce the “laws” anyway.
What then? Who has the legal ability to enforce the Courts rulings and what can be done if a President simply rejects their decisions?
Pinging Congressman BillyBob who may know the answer to my question....
You can’t impeach a member of Congress, so their lawyers didn’t tell them that. Could have told them something else, though.
YOu are right, if they vote directly on the Senate bill, there must be recording of the yeas and nays. Pelosi has no choice. Boehner won’t have to force the issue. Of course he would have his members rise to demand one if Pelosi tried to pass it by voice, but she won’t. What makes you think for a second Boehner would sit by and let it pass UNRECORDED?
It would be different if the Senate bill was deemed as passed within a changes bill. Then, Boehner wouldn’t be able to stop that because the Senate bill wasn’t being directly voted on, which means it wasn’t the bill actually under consideration, therefore, no chance to stand and demand a recorded vote.
This according to House Republican Legal Staff and Mark Levin.
The House reconciliation bill will likely include Stupak's "no payment for abortion" language. So the Dems figure that that will get the necessary Republican votes to put that bill over 60 in the Senate. The Republican Senators need to say NOW that, "Pro-Life" also means anti-"Death Panel" and they will not vote for the reconciliation bill. Make the House and Senate Dems responsible for Federal Funding of abortion and "Death Panels".
Is that the way the final bill is written? If yes, his "subsidized" supporters are going to be awfully pissed (as I smile in irony).
We will officially be a dictatorship as of tomorrow. ANYONE PREPARED FOR WHAT WE NEED TO DO MONDAY ?

Thats right because it’s only part 1 of the plan . Part 2 is immigration. He ‘ll pull the same crap and pass it . Now they have clients instead of citizens. Cap and Trad ,part 4 , Fairness Doctrine part 5 ..end of game..
Extreme reaction and civil unrest is in order...Yea or nay ?
Maybe they told them the best way to remove tar and feathers without bothering the botox.
They just started the “deem” talk so that we quit being outraged over the reconciliation procedure. No one’s talking about that anymore.
This according to House Republican Legal Staff and Mark Levin.
If "deemed" passed - then it would be subject to a more than plausible constitutional challenge under Article I, Section 7 and the Supreme Court opinion in Clinton v. City of New York ...
If “no abortion pay” language is in a reconciliation bill, that makes it subject to a point of order challenge in the Senate.
Because reconciliation is not equipped to handle such policy issues, but rather budget issues. The Republicans not only would not vote for a reconciliation bill, period, under any circumstances, but they will raise points of order to force items to be stripped out of the bill that are not reconciliation items.
In addition, the House pro-aborts are adament that such language not be in the House changes bill.
Thank you. My understanding of that at least one element of the Health Care bill is that women may option for $1 per month abortion coverage and that the "real cost" is then subsidized by the Federal government. Please let us know of any information you have on this AND if such a situation would then be considered a "budget" issue.
