Much as been made of the Cornhusker Kickback to secure Ben Nelson's vote for Obamacare. And much as been made of the cancellation of it. Less has been made of the backup bribe to him. As the Washington Times reports: The Obama administration has delivered another budget plum to Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson and the state of Nebraska, adding more than a half-billion dollars for a new veterans hospital in Omaha.
The move reverses a decision by Mr. Obama's own Veterans Administration of a year ago, which called for repairing an existing hospital.
The Veterans Administration made the budget switch during internal deliberations in 2009 at a time when the White House was wooing the moderate Democrat to vote for President Obama's health care overhaul bill.

Ben’s nickname by G.W. Bush was “Nellie.”
He didn’t like that so wanted to be called “Ben-A-Tor” (senator).
Now, with his grandstanding and to following Dirty Harry, he should be, “Ben-A-Whore” (nothing more than a cheap prostitute from Harry’s brothel—used once to get the 60th vote and then cast aside).
Never forget his was the 60th vote which enabled this monstrosity of legislation to move ahead.

The Senate bill still contains the Cornhusker Kickback. The House must vote on that exact bill.
There have not been any changes made or the bill would have to be voted upon again in the Senate.
Removing the Cornhusker Kickback will be done AFTER the House passes the Senate bill.....just like abortion language will be removed AFTER the House passes the Senate bill.
Don’t let anyone tell you that changes have been made.
The only plan thats going to take place is the collection of taxes. Once this Health coverage plan goes into effect it will be at the expence of the VA hospital system. Eventually some of these institutions will be forced to take universal care patients.
This was once suggested by a former Republican IL congressman turned Vet affairs Sec, Ed Derwinski.
And by the way Nelson or any congress member will not be part of the system they conjured for the rest of US
