IMDB only has Sarandon, Phillippe, Bruce Dern and our very own Jason Alan Smith from Do Not Disturb listed as the attached cast, but in Phillippe’s latest interview he revealed that there’s more people involved…

According to Phillippe, “I think I’m doing a Western in May, with Susan Sarandon, Billy Bob Thornton, Richard Dreyfuss [and] Bruce Dern,” he said. “It’s called The Big Valley, which was a [television] series in the ’60s, and so it’s sort of based on that.”

I'm holding out for a big screen remake of the Soupy Sales Show.

btw they also say Chris Carter has been offered Captain America. Probably the Red Skull organizes tea parties.

No one can replace Barbara Stanwyck especially Susan Sarandon. I wish they wouldn’t do this. The people were great in their roles and I always hate to see them destroyed.

If they want to do things like this; why don’t they go several generations into the future?

I thought they already did. Wasn't "Who's the Boss?" supposed to be the story of the great-great-grandchildren of the Barkeley family, after they had lost their wealth, moved from Stockton, and become middle class?

Regards,

A Big Valley with Susan Sarandon? Talk about going off a cliff, just like Thelma and Louise.

Somebody like Lynda Carter would be a better choice, IMO. Strong screen presence.

Notice how I didn't mention the famous uniform...heh heh heh

Big Valley??

Is that slang for a part of the female anatomy, or the cast? Because it looks like they've picked the biggest bunch of liberal ****** to act in it.

I guess the creative masterminds in Hollywood must have run out of comic books to turn into movies - they’ve moved on to remakes of old soap-opera western TV shows.

Only Hollywood would be stupid enough to copy stuff whose fans have been dead for 20 years.

For the love of god cant they do ANYTHING original that isn't horribly offensive?

with Susan Sarandon, Billy Bob Thornton

This can't be. Billy Bob is known for being unable to be in the same room with old things.

Barbara Stanwyck was also a friend of Ayn Rand. Susan Sarandon sounds as far away from Ayn Rand as possible.

Barbara Stanwyck was such a great actress, with such presence, and Sarandon simply doesn't measure up.

Though I wonder how many FReepers would be so high on Stanwyck if they knew about HER personal life.

Choosing actresses for roles based on their politics is retarded. If I thought Sarandon could do the role, I don't give a damn what she does with her personal life. If I could only see movies by Conservatives, who's that leave me to see? Chuck Norris isn't exactly getting the best scripts these days.

I don't dislike Sarandon's acting because she's such a bigmouthed lib; I dislike her acting because she's a big bore onscreen.

I didn’t know that. I really don’t know very much about Hollywood celebritards.

I was just thinking of a woman with a strong screen presence to play the Stanwyck role.

Susan Sarandon would be decorating the nearest gallows in the Real West.

From David Horowitz's newsrealblog.wordpress.com,
April 2009:

"“Free Mumia” rallies were held to cheering throngs across the United States and Europe. Among the luminaries convinced of Jamal’s innocence were: pro-Castro socialist actor Ed Asner; America-hating university professor Noam Chomsky; America-hating activist Ramsey Clark (affiliated with the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party); actress/antiwar activist Susan Sarandon; film critic Roger Ebert; actor/antiwar activist Mike Farrell; Marxist professor Howard Zinn; socialist writer Norman Mailer; Robert Meerepol (the son of Soviet spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg); America-hating filmmakers Michael Moore, Spike Lee, and Oliver Stone; longtime communist radical Angela Davis; and the late actor Ossie Davis. The city of Paris went so far as to make Jamal an honorary citizen."
