Any idea how much sales are up, percentage-wise, over, say, 2007?
I’ve been pulling the number 300% out of the air, but would be interested in real numbers.

This article in 2008 says sales as of Sept '08 were up 8~10% over 2007, so it looks like 10% compounding sales growth so far.

Any idea how much sales are up, percentage-wise, over, say, 2007?For roughly a decade prior to 2008, background checks averaged roughly 10 million per year.
Note that a single background check may correspond to the sale of several new firearms, or it may just represent the reentry of a used firearm back to the consuming public.
It would probably be accurate to say sales are up 40% over prior years.
