It' will be close to a high-noon showdown on Sunday, as shortly thereafter the final debate on President Obama's health-care legislation is set to begin.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) announced the weekend debate schedule, with a 72-hour march culminating at 1 p.m. Sunday. Democrats expect a final vote sometime Sunday evening, Sunday night or possibly early Monday morning.
Hoyer also announced that the House will be considering legislation Sunday on protecting oceans and public lands -- one of which is likely to serve as the back-stop vote. On critical legislation such as this health-care vote, leaders usually place one bill to be voted on after the high-profile vote, as a way to force lawmakers to stay in the chamber after voting in case Democrats need to try to twist arms to get members to change 'no' votes to 'yes'.

They’d all do good to close the chamber and go to CHURCH!!!!!!!!!!
It’s gonna be a looong weekend........
Like re-watching a great movie with a tragic ending.
Ain’t that just like a bunch of commies. Pull off their commie crap on Sunday, the Lord’s day. Just another slap in the face of non-Muslims.
At the very least, this means that they will “deem” this thing. At the worst, they will pass it. But I think they will still not get the votes.
I think they will try to deem it.
Watch Pereillo, Mitchell and Ellsworth. All voted against deem and pass - their votes are critical I believe.
A demonstration they can't ignore.
They’ve been announcing deadlines since last year. I’ll believe it when it happens.
Last time it was Christmas eve. Ya think God's not watching?
That might be dangerous, since many of them would probably spontaneously combust upon entering...
You are right, Sunday, and a Sunday in Lent, to boot. These are people who are not Christian, and are certainly not walking with the Lord. They feign concern, but they are only in league with the devil and he has taken over Washington. We need an exorcism. And, I am really serious. There are evil egos running our country. Not God-fearing men and women who are loving and concerned about anything except doing exactly what THEY want. The heck with the future, the heck with their countrymen. I am not giving up hope, but it is a dark time for America.
After seeing both Boehner and Cantor on FOX tonight, both seem confident and serene. Encouraging.
Watch Nye and Dahlkemper - both will be critical votes. Neither can survive in November if they vote yes.
Why don’t we be in session as well?
SHUT DOWN THE PROCESS ALTOGETHER.
bttt
It is also "torture" of the American people at large.
The Gitmo detainees are being treated better than this.
Does anyone know of an up to date vote count. Boehner seemed confident that they didn’t have votes. But Fox news panel said they would pass it.
This is maddening.
I don’t think they let tax payers in the House or Senate. You need be a trough feeder to get in.
