Congressman Steve King of Iowa has applied for a permit to hold a massive rally at the Capitol on Saturday, 3-21-10 at 12 Noon. We need to get in our cars, trucks, grab a bus, train, plane, and get to Washington...WE MUST GET OFF OUR BEHINDS AND STAND UP EN MASSE AND BLOCK ALL TRAFFIC FROM COMING IN OR GOING OUT OF WASHINGTON. King said he was inspired by the August, 1968 uprising in Czechoslovakia when the people came together in huge numbers, arm in arm, and stood their ground against the communists in their government. It was a peaceful demonstration. And the communists capitulated. We are about to lose our country to the communists, and WHAT ARE WE DOING TO SHOW OUR DISGUST AND REFUSAL TO GIVE IN TO THEM? The Czechs knew what to do. What the hell are the citizens of the United States doing to protect and retain the Constitution? Let us get off our complacent behinds, turn off the TV, put away any other distractions and VOW TO SAVE THIS COUNTRY. SEE YOU ON SATURDAY, MARCH 20, 12 noon. And do what? More faxes, tea parties and phone calls? On Sunday? They will do what ever it takes to pass this thing.
It was a GREAT effort and in a REAL democracy we'd have won, but those days are done. Welcome to the new America where we have no voice and no choice!

I really, really (!) hope you’re right. I saw the whip count just now on another thread and it looks optimistic-— but those “undecideds” are the real problem.
The pattern I’ve seen in the past is that they are chicken s#%* and cave (go against the will of the people) at the last second. HOW THE H@&& can somebody say they are undecided at this point? Is it because they haven’t gotten the bacon yet and they’re holding out for the deal (or a plane ride?)
But - I have been calling... and calling...
I was at the rally on Tuesday and went over to Cannon afterwards.

They rarely have courage to go against the party at the last minute. That’s the dig and that’s what Nancy and Obama are counting on.
That’s also why we must continue to call them. They’re weak.

I am not trying to be a defeatist here, and it's inspiring to see this kind of reaction but ... it's too late. The "undecided" will go along with it, I am 90% sure because we've seen this with the whole cloture thing. I, like everyone else here, thought that at the last second it wouldn't go through but we were mislead again by the media and the same thing is happening here.
I pray I am wrong but this is a done deal. They are doing EVERYTHING they can to pass this and they WILL succeed. They will do everything legal AND illegal to do it because they do not care, they think they are above the law.
Next is Cap and Trade
Then Amnesty
And after that ... who knows ... maybe a civilian police force? Remove term limits on Presidents?
Call them on the weekend? The libbies and undecides are not picking up the phone during business hours,do you think they will pick it up over the next 2 days???

But your tone and your words are defeatist. If soldiers heard such talk from their commanders, we would never have won any wars. We are the boots on the ground and we will move forward. Square your shoulders, find the core of conviction within yourself to win and join those of us who have nothing to lose but our country. No one ever said this is going to be easy. Boehner is angry and he said so. He wanted to say the word pi**ed, but didn’t. This is good anger and they need to keep it up. Cantor and Boehner were terrific: Coburn too.
Well at least we know the date and time of the loss of our Representative Republic. And to think our destruction came from within and not from the outside.
