Failure Predicted for Amnesty

Solving the problems of illegal immigration and securing the border do not appear to be on the top of the Department of Homeland Security’s list.

The Secure Border Initiative (SBInet), a program developed by Boeing, was designed to incorporate new with existing technology to help federal agents better detect illegal crossings, drug smugglers, and other criminal activity at the border. When the Recovery Act was divvied out by the Obama Administration, the Secure Border Initiative was to receive $50 million to continue to pay for the project.

However, Janet Napolitano declared that this allocation from the Recovery Act would be suspended since she thought the program was inundated with "technical problems, missed deadlines and cost overruns."

In her statement, Napolitano makes clear that instead of funding a program that could do a better job of securing the entire border, the DHS will send the money "... to other tested, commercially available security technology along the Southwest border."

And John McCain agrees with her. McCain hastily expressed the program as a failure and he applauded Napolitano for sticking to the already available equipment.

Sure, Napolitano and McCain, go ahead and encourage the implementation of the same programs and technology you’ve always used along the border. Congratulations, you’re just going to continue to get the same results you always have.

Complete and totally wrong and uninformed. Although it pains me to write this, Napolitano did the smart thing. They should have canceled the “virtual” fence project a couple of years ago. It is a billion-dollar money pit. Not another dollar should be spent on it. When DHS decided to take half the money Congress allocated for fence, and create a “virtual” fence, instead of going into the market place and buying existing electronics and technology such as is used effectively by countries and the military around the world, DHS for some mysterious reason demanded that Boeing invent a system from scratch. They have spent billions of dollars and have NOTHING to show for it, except for some happy shareholders. The other part of the fence project, the physical, actual fence, went forward and about 650 miles was built. Not double-layer, which is the most effective, but there is some kind of barrier from San Diego to the Texas state line, and about 80 miles in Texas. The Texans put up a huge fight against it (especially in the Lower RG Valley, which has been colonized and taken over by Mexico already), the government did not own the land there like it did elsewhere, the fence along that part of the border had to be built in a flood plain controlled jointly by Mexico and the US and so it ground to a halt. But there is some fence. In some places it reduced the illegal traffic by as much as 60 percent. That never got reported because it didn’t fit the MSM’s world-view. (Of course, they just went somewhere else.) There could be twice as much, or what we have could have been double-layers, had they not gone off on a tangent with the “virtual” fence.
This can in no way be interpreted as “easing up on border security,” because the “virtual” fence was never functioning in the first place. The Border Patrol is there, the actual fence is there, the drones are flying over Arizona.

It's the nation's corporations, companies and agriculture who want illegals free to work for them. They want us to buy their products, and ignore their politics (advocacy of illegal immigration) while jobless Americans search for work.

I agree at least that the Boeing-developed system is a failure that doesn’t work, plagued with technical problems in addition to being overrun, etc....I don’t know much about the other stuff.

This is from a 2007 contact list of congressional aides. Some might not be there any longer, but worth a try. The ones on the one post are senate aides, a few have bounced back, it’s worth the effort to clog up their email system along with the phones, and 1/3rd of these senators are up for re-election.

Mail must be inspected for anthrax.

Contact congressional aides.

Good idea from the bloggers at Hillbuzz:

They offer specifics and links on how to put pressure on Dem DONORS, who have private numbers for legislators who may have taken their phones off the hook.

Remember they are all being offered BRIBES for their votes. Ask them how much their bribe price is.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

Congressional Dems on Twitter

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!
