He gave us "boomer" kids many hours of great adventure. Yeah ... had a Davey Crockett jacket as a kid. Didn't have the coonskin hat though (although they were popular) because I didn't want to cover my curly Brylcream enhanced locks. Spent hours getting it just right. Today it's not an issue ... I don't have any ... Brylcream or hair. ;)

I remember being five or six and encountering “Davey” in full frontier regalia at the local drug store (also sold toys). I know now of course that it was just some tall guy in a costume but, then, for me, it was Davey.
