Bread is over $3.00 for anything that will actually hold meat or PB.
Haven’t priced bananas this week. Will do so today.
Odd, the store brand white bread here in central PA is still about $1. Sometimes less. You can also get decent rye, ww, italian, etc. for way less than $3.
Wonder Bread (yes, I have decided to buy it after having eaten my sandwiches on French Bread exclusively for the last 2 years), was $1.99 at regular price at Walmart. Sugarland bacon was on sale at another store for $1.99, but I’m pretty sure that was a 12 oz package, which would make it $2.65 a lb. Oscar Meyer was at $4.19 a lb, but that was the most expensive.
When I see Dominos, Pizza Hut and Papa Johns all running “$10 any size, any topping” pizza deals, that doesn’t seem like hyper-inflation to me.
When McDonalds, Burger King and Wendys are all pimping their dollar menus, that’s not hyper-inflation.
Bananas - $0.59/lb at Giant Eagle. Oddly enough, local italian specialty store sells them at $0.39/lb.
Arnold Pan Italian Bread - $3.29
Dunkin Donuts Coffee - They downsized they bag from 13 oz to 12 oz and it’s still $7.99 in the store. I try to pick it up at the shop as they sell 16 oz bags for $8.99. It’s the only coffee hubby and I can agree on and really like.
Cauliflower - $4.99/head. Farmers market - $0.99
Ice Berg Lettuce - varies around here from $1.99 to $0.99 depending on where you get it.
I just don’t have the time to shop all the ads every week and then drive around. I end up at freakin Giant Eagle all the time for convenience. Local Wal-Mart is a dump.
bread is $0.95 a loaf at Aldi...you may want to seek out the nearest one to you...
