Obama On House Health Vote: A Vote's A Vote
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama indicated Wednesday that he does not oppose plans by House Democrats to pass his much-challenged health care overhaul without a direct vote.
"I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate. What I can tell you is that the vote that's taken in the House will be a vote for health care reform," Obama said in an interview with Fox News.
"If people vote yes, whatever form that takes, that is going to be a vote for health care reform," he said in an excerpt of the interview to be aired later Wednesday evening. "And I don't think we should pretend otherwise." Democratic leaders hope to vote this weekend on the measure, which will require 216 votes to pass.
Leaders have embarked on a two-step approach that requires the House to approve the measure passed by the Senate, despite misgivings on key provisions. Then both chambers would quickly pass a second bill making several changes to the first. In the Senate, that vote would come under rules that keep Republicans from using the filibuster to hold up the bill.
Some House members are wary about the Senate keeping its end of the deal.
"The House wants assurances, and we intend to give them assurances," said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Corrected for tense, those very words will appear in the brief of the Government of the United States in the case of Levin v. U.S., and likely in the judicial opinion upholding the Constitutionality of this monstrosity.
If they pull this off, no democrat will ever get elected to office again.

If they pull this slimy procedure and the people bitch but accept it, the flag might as well be pulled down, congress might as well go home and troops might as well be stationed at all intersections ‘cause it’s over.
No, I think Pelosi knows the bill has to pass/fail on a headcount vote and that is where her focus is. I think the point has been reached where the "uncommitted" Democrats are arguing over who gets to vote "no" and the others will sacrifice themselves for a "higher purpose". The trick is to convince the ones to be sacrificed that it's for a noble cause greater than their careers or principles ... and it seems to be working (whether it succeeds, of course, remains to be seen).

Doing my part...made some calls today...only got one rep’s office...others were busy or didn’t answer.
Bottom-line, “dream = deem”, and whatever else the current-elected think and wish. “Change” was not supposed to mean “surreal” with increasingly kaleidoscopic speed as the hallmark.

This is the nightmare nobody is talking about. It's true. Nobody can force doctors to remain in practice. This is going to be the most devastating result of this outrage. You'll never get an appointment with the doctors who remain in practice.
The Preamble of the Constitution has been effectively changed to "WE THE GOVERNMENT"
