Interesting to note with the pronunciation thing that Tot in German means dead. Interesting, indeed. "Toten" should be the plural form. "Berg" appears to mean "mountain". So, "Totenberg" literally translates to "mountain of the dead" or "dead mountain". (/BabelFish)

Obama has nominated the sister of National Public Radio legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg (TOH'-ten-burgh) for a federal judgeship. Obama on Wednesday tapped Amy Totenberg for a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. She has been in private practice and has served as an arbitrator in Atlanta since 2000.
