ISLAMABAD – A Pakistani court charged five young Americans on Wednesday with planning terrorist attacks in the South Asian country and conspiring to wage war against nations allied with Pakistan, their defense lawyer said.

Some appear to Islamos whose parents came to America.

Maybe, home grown Jihadis will avoid going to Pakistan for fun,adventure and acts of Islamofascist terrorism.

On this St. Patty’s day, I am reminded of my Great Grandfather,who came to America in the 1850’s to escape the Irish Potato Famine.

Upon arrival in Boston, he enlisted in the Army, the 9th Massachusetts Infantry.

He was in 3 major Civil War Battles and was wounded at Fredericksburg.

Upon return to Boston he joined the National Guard and fought the Great Boston Fire which destroyed the West End.

I share this little story to contrast the behavior of the Americans of the Past who came here seeking a better life, and made America THEIR country, vs. the current crop of jerks.

Most of us probably have similiar history/genealogy stories of how our ancestors came to this country, worked their butts everyday,served in the military when called and were good citizens. Including many former slaves, who enlisted and fought in our first two wars and the Civil war.

Yes indeed! I lived in Readville, right next to the Training Fields of Camp Miegs, Where Col. Robert Gould Shaw trained the Massachusetts 54th Regiment. They were the All-Black Regiment that distinguished themselves with such courage, and were immortalized in the movie “Glory”.
