Bob Bennett, as you know, is the TARP-backing, Bridge-to-Nowhere-supporting, health-care-takeover-proposing RINO running for his life to win re-nomination in Utah for a fourth term. Bob Bennetts health care proposal its called the Wyden-Bennett bill, remember includes an individual mandate, forces taxpayers to subsidize abortions, supports domestic partner benefits, and would cost more than $1 trillion. He is an unrepentant earmarker, whom Senator Jim DeMint has conspicuously declined to endorse for re-election.
Conservatives in Utah are rallying around Bennetts challengers, and the Club for Growth is actively working to defeat him at the May nominating convention.
So who does Bennett call on to save his career? Mitt Romney, of course. Bennett is even giving away copies of Romneys book on the campaign trail maybe that explains the curious New York Times notation that Romneys book, debuting in the number one spot this past week on the best sellers list, was the only book on the list to have received bulk orders.

Romney’s been engaged in so much backscratching I expect his undershirts are all torn to shreds.
I am sure that the ‘Mittins’ here on FreeRepublic have a prefectly logical reason why Mitt is backing such a ‘RINO’ and I for one am looking forward to hear it. (sarc)
I’ll say once again that RINOs are inevitable in some states. Maine, for instance. But if you only have a few RINOs from the liberal states, and the leadership keeps on top of them, then it’s perfectly workable. Collins and Snowe actually used to vote with the party when their arms were twisted, and that’s what counts.
But why on earth do we need RINOs in basically conservative states? That’s where the party stumbles and falls, and starts losing national elections, because the leadership is controlled by RINOs.
We don’t need folks like Bennett. We don’t need folks like McCain. We don’t need folks like Crist, whose RINO ways have lost him support with the base in Florida. And we sure as hell don’t need folks like Mitt Romney going around helping move the whole party to the left in conservative states.
Good post

Say what you will, Senor. I only got married because of Mitt Romney,
and have now two homes courtesy of Barney Frank and ACORN,
with my colts going to Harvard Law School fully paid,
courtesy of Patrick Deval. Adios.
Ditto. Amnesty Graham should be on the top of We Can Do Better list.
The GOP leadership needs to get it through their freaking thick skulls that RINO’s LOSE ELECTIONS... EVERY TIME. Unfortunately for America, Michael Steel is too stupid to understand this point.
Romney had to sit down a few months ago and decide where he was going to steer his campaign. He could look at the tea party movement and try to appeal to those people, try to run as the Washington outsider, rail against the growth of government and the lack of common sense. If he did that he would be in a head to head battle with Palin all the way. He could look at the traditional social right and run like he did last time, but he has to go head to head with Huck and his army of evangelical statists. He chose instead to play the role of party guy, moderate, acceptable leader who will call in all his chits from incumbents and party organizations around the country. It is a bet that the tea party is too disorganized and that when the time comes to choose a nominee it will be the same old party machinery and party leaders who make the king. I think and hope he is wrong.
Ditto on Gramnesty.
I consider Newt a conservative.
This is getting really old...
Oops, make that Bennett.
Newt Gingrich endorsed Benbett last month at an event in Salt Lake too.
I consider Newt a conservative.
This is getting really old...
Newt is no conservative.....he supported Dede Schizzofava in NY 23....supports the Global Warming Hoax.....promotes Illegal Alien Amnesty (thru the code-word “Guest Worker Program”)....
I and many others used to think Newt was a conservative....I guess that was really the Contract On America a few years ago

Et tu, Mitt? (RINOs looking out for each other),
