I am suggesting that there is an even larger crisis looming:
A committee in Congress a couple of weeks ago declared that the 1915 clash between Turkey and Armenia was a genocide by Turkey.
I don’t know if it was or not——but:
It happened 95 years ago.
The Committee surely has better things to work on.
There is no binding or following legislation on this committee’s vote.
The result? :::
Turkey immediately withdrew it’s Ambassador to the United State.
Another very high ranking person in the Turkish government has declared that Turkey will be more sympathetic towards IRAN in the future.
USA has built a great number of military bases in Turkey, and they are all very important if we are to continue to assist Israel, the Baltic states, etc.
We have no other bases close enough to help fast enough.
All of this could be a bigger problem for Israel and other friends of the USA in the MIddle East.
Why was this committee meddling in the first place? It all happened 95 years ago!!!! Are they going to vote on Hannibal also? Marco Polo? Alexander the Great? What next???
Congressman Cantor and Senator Demint (or anyone in the GOP leadership) need to organize a junket to Israel of Republican congresscritters, and pose for photo-ops with Bibi (ala Pelosi/Assad). They could also use the trip as a sounding board to call out Jewish congressional Democrats to take a stand: either with Israel or her enemies (which Obama is clearly one).
