JERUSALEM — Israeli officials said Monday that the U.S. is pressing Israel to scrap a contentious east Jerusalem building project whose approval has touched off the most serious diplomatic feud with Washington in years.
Competing Israeli and Palestinian claims to east Jerusalem were feeding tensions in the holy city, where Arabs and Jews maintain an uneasy coexistence and sometimes clash. Police were out in large numbers in the volatile Old City in expectation of renewed clashes.
Top U.S. officials have lined up in recent days to condemn the Israeli plan to build 1,600 apartments in east Jerusalem, the sector of the holy city that the Palestinians claim for their future capital.
The project caused a storm in Washington because it was announced during Vice President Joe Biden's visit to the region last week, badly embarrassing the U.S. and complicating its efforts to restart Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking. The Palestinians immediately threatened not to join upcoming U.S.-brokered talks meant to jumpstart negotiations after a 14-month breakdown.

I think they need to tell the US Gov’t they can’t build anything on Indian Reservations, and tell them no more Wal Marts in the flood basin in New Orleans. WHY is it important in the US for us to tell them where or what they can build on land that belongs to them?

In other news, Mexico has demanded the U.S. return Texas, Arizona and California to the Mexican territory. In addition, Russia has demanded the U.S. return Alaska that had been stolen from them.
These demands are already on the left’s agenda along with giving back nearly all of the USA back to the Indian tribes, a mass forced Exodus of white folks to Europe or on ‘reservations’ and reparations to the black community.
Is it possible that Barack Hussein Obama seriously believes that Israel is the 58th state, and that HE can dictate to Israel what it will do?

The difference was, in each of your examples, the “conquered” peoples were absorbed into the country, becoming citizens, and given the right to vote.
That’s clearly not the case in the occupied West Bank.

Why doesn’t he publicly ask them why they want to cleanse a part of Jerusalem of Jews? I’d love to hear the answer.
Trouble is, BN is not a king. If he doesn’t do this right, like a high dive into a washtub, he’s history. And it sounds like the 0bama team is purposefully shaking his platform.
Unlike the meeting at least 6 months ago, zero is in a epic free fall in poll numbers. Bibi can and should easily tell Hussein hell no. Eventually that 78% American Jewish support will vanish as zero appears more confrontational to Israel and the Jews.
So zero, its OK to tell the Jews where to live! Zero plays the race card in a new way by being the racist.
