FreedomWorks has agreed to host the 2010 Tax Day Tea Party for Washington, DC. On Tax Day, April 15th, hundreds of thousands of Americans will protest big government around the country. They will protest in big cities and small towns, from Los Angeles, California to Burlington, North Carolina. FreedomWorks will be hosting the DC Tax Day Tea Party, at The Washington Monument, in view of the White House.
My wife and I will be there and have 6 others coming.
Dang I wish I could be there. Love FreedomWorks and Dick Armey is the HOMBRE!
That is awesome. The closer the day gets the more excited I’m getting.
We will FRappin’ be there!
Well when did they change the date???? It was going to be on the 16th!
Oh nevermind,...this one is in April, I thought it was the one this coming Tuesday...
I’ll be there (again)
Be there
Be belligerent
Anyone else want to storm the House? Cops can’t stop us.
The Slaughter gambit is a declaration of war on the American people. Defend yourself or surrender. There is no middle ground.
I’ll be there(again, also)
We can storm Our House...be advised that it is one and one quarter miles away from the east end of the ellipse...
Give me a PM to exchange contact info.
We now have much of the American public on our side.
How will being belligerent increase our public support?
How will being belligerent increase our public support?
Seems to me, part of the reason we will be there is to send a message to the fascists, Pelosi, et al.
Polite respect is, in their eyes, a sign of weakness. I was there on 9/12. I truly believe our numbers shocked them, a lot. Now it is time for a little fear on their part.
If they run this BS health care through illegally via this Slaughter gambit, make no mistake, your freedom is gone. And you won't get it back peacefully. The bill is a socialist nightmare. But add to that it is a law imposed upon us without due legislative process. A law that can and will take your money, your property, and has the power to imprison you for not buying "insurance" dictated by the government. The Republic will be dead. Period. I really don't think one can overstate it.
A lot of people are afraid of this, they are afraid of the government, they feel we are powerless here. If we show a little more muscle, I believe that they will actually be encouraged rather than put off.
The Democrats have to think we are genuinely capable of rebellion. Nothing less will impede them. Polite petitioning will not do that. And the Republicans need to see that also. They need a rod up their butts in a big way.
1) Probably the lowest personal savings and investment rate for a developed country.
2) The frightening ability to "tweak" the tax code so it could affect as little as ONE taxpayer.
3) A tax code so complicated that the IRS can't figure out half the code and costs Americans nearly US$500 BILLION per year in compliance costs.
4) Driving around US$15 TRILLION out of the US financial system, either by participating in the underground economy or using tax loopholes to funnel liquid assets to offshore financial centers, all done as a means of income tax avoidance.
5) Driving many millions of jobs out of the USA for income tax avoidance raasons.
It's time to repeal the 16th Amendment and replace the income tax with FairTax, which will kick off the next American economic boom.
I’ll be there PING!
I was there on 9/12 too, it was amazing to see the crowds. I saw very scientific crowd number calculations show 1.7 million.
It did surprise the Liberals, and the 4/15 event, which is during the week instead of the weekend, will shut the city down for a few hours. I hope I can make it.
The HC bill has been stopped by grassroots resistance, started by the Teapartiers. From the Teapartiers it spread to the general public because the Teapartiers are just average folks behaving in average (protest) ways. It is those numbers of the general public who managed to put the brakes on Congress.
I think the general public will have a negative reaction to very agressive public display of resistance. Storming the Congressional Building, marching in the streets of DC with weapons is certainly possible. But it is somethng the average American cannot relate to, and will they will distance themselves from it.
And with that the support for the Tea Party movement will evaporate.
F Freedom works and F Dick Armey
why for?
I quess insatiable sex drive?? I will bring in my day laborer (feral cat) tonight.
Well, even though I feel that a more aggressive attitude at 4/15 is called for, I don’t see enough of the others looking at it that way for anything like that to happen.
Still, a sizable enough turnout on a Thursday would gum up things enough on it’s own to send a message and get some attention. Pelosi and crew are thinking/hoping we shot our wad on 9/12. She needs to be shown we are still here and not going away.
