Daily Mail ^ | 6:09 PM on 12th March 2010 | Tom Kelly

Posted on 03/12/2010 11:27:16 AM PST by Niuhuru

A restaurant owner yesterday branded the justice system a 'joke' after he was locked up for seizing two teenage yobs who broke into his beer cellar. Sal Miah spent five hours in a police cell after he chased down the hoodies and held them in the bar while his staff dialled 999.

The married father-of-five assumed police would commend him for catching the young criminals.

Rule of law rests upon an underlying moral code or else it will go seriously awry. Law separate from morality becomes incoherent.

This isn't about the UK justice system or yobs. This is about this guy's sense of style.

Sweet fluffy Lord!

I’m sure there is plenty of comparable idiocy in the US. Like the guy in New York who shot a home invader practically at his daughter’s door and ended up in jail for gun charges.

Unfortunately, we are moving in the same direction. If you do not make yourself completely dependent on the police and the system you will be viewed as a threat to that very system and dealt with accordingly.

"Granddad Gurmail Singh was beaten to death with a hammer as he tried to defend his shop from four teenage hoodies stealing cigarettes and chocolate last month. "

Yeah, let's blame the Granddad for trying to protect his livelihood; he should have offered to hold the door open for the kids as they stole his goods < /saracasm>

Personally, I'm a big fan of the 9mm solution; 2 to the head, and 1 to the chest.

If this just happened once, it could be a fluke. But you read story after story about this kind of thing happening in England. I think it first came to my attention when that guy was thrown into jail for murder after defending his home from robbers who had broken in several times before and had beaten him up.

Protecting yourself, your family, your house, is just not allowed. And the police have no interest in protecting you either.

I would say "unbelievable" but the Daily Mail runs these stories every week with no apparent shortage.

Ultimately, Britain is a democracy and this craziness is a result of those they've elected into power.

These stories have been common as posted from the UK papers.

It is basically against the law to interfere with criminals in their course of their duties.

The spokesman said: 'On no account should any attempt at aggression be made as this could easily escalate into violence.'

Granddad Gurmail Singh was beaten to death with a hammer as he tried to defend his shop from four teenage hoodies stealing cigarettes and chocolate last month.

Sure stand by and let the hoodies take all of your possessions. When the police finally get there they can take your statement and try finding the yoots responsible in a week or two.

The Brits need to come back to reality before it is too late. Armed defense of your person and your property is a natural God given right. .

If a few hoodies lose their lives once in a while whilst trying to take another man’s property unlawfully perhaps their parents will try a bit harder to keep them home at night and perhaps the yoots will think a second time before committing unlawful acts.

Sussex police said Mr Miah should not have tried to apprehend the youths and should have 'observed from a safe distance' before dialling 999.

Oddly enough, this is the same tactic British police use themselves!

They will take your statement. That's about it.

The uncle of one of the boys even came to restaurant making threats that he was going to smash it up and burn it down.

'But when I reported that the police said they couldn't find him.'
