Sen. Reid visited the hospital and then returned to Capitol Hill for a meeting with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

If Rahm had any decency he would have canceled the meeting or met him at the hospital.

All I can say is these comments are exceptionally classy, given who Sen. Reid is and what he stands for. I guarantee that if this sort of accident had happened to Bush or Rush, the DU would be doing the Snoopy dance and cursing them with ill wishes. Bravo, fellow FReepers!

No. The Beltway outer loop between College Park and Rockville Pike is the scariest, New Jersey Turnpike notwithstanding. I-95 where they were driving is a piece of cake. I drive it quite often. I wonder if they had been down to Potomac Mills. Now, I can see your point about I-95 from the Beltway to Baltimore. Very hairy. Full of people from elsewhere who don’t know how to drive.
