A man with learning difficulties was 'tormented to death' after being bullied by yobs for more than a decade, neighbours claimed today. David Askew, 64, dropped dead after he tackled thugs who broke down his gate and invaded his garden. Neighbours said Mr Askew had been targeted before he was found dead at his home in Hattersley, Greater Manchester, last night. One neighbour said he had been 'tormented to death - like bear baiting'. Residents criticised police and officials for not supporting Mr Askew and his brother Brian and mother Rose, who was wheelchair-bound. Officers were called to the address last night after being told yobs were causing an 'annoyance'. When they arrived the youths had vanished but officers discovered Mr Askew collapsed in his back garden.

“Yobs” is a British term for good for nothing punk hoodlums.

Everybody else pitched in on "Yobs", which is easier than saying "misguided youths who must be treated like delicate porcelain in order to avoid damaging their already inadequate self esteem". Another good British-ism is "lager louts", but that's usually only used in reference to high spirited soccer fans.
In the good old days a judge would call them likely recruits for Army or Navy boot camp in lieu of a long stay in a state penitentiary.

If I remember French I correctly, it means “what is” as in What does Yobs mean - what are yobs.
Don't be silly. They would have been prosecuted and jailed if they took any action. They need a revolution to purge the government of pc thought before acting out to help one another.
On this very forum, in numerous postings, I have read about Brits who stood up to yobs, and in defense of others or themselves, had a physical altercation, sometimes leading to the death of the yob, when it was clearly life or death for the innocent citizen defending themselves. In every instance, the UK police and legal establishment came down on that innocent like a ton of bricks, and destroyed their life.
I’m sure many of his neighbours knew that. In England, you are not allowed to confront thugs, or the bigger thugs in uniform will get you.
That’s what comes of socialism. They kids probably don’t have any jobs or any interest in working.
Too bad Mr. Askew didn’t have a luger. Betcha those kids wouldn’t have bothered him anymore if had one of those.
Why involve God when people choose to be evil? Shouldn’t the police have been involved, instead?

Here in the states, “yob(s)” is an illegal alien receiving a paycheck. “Si, I have a yob”.
No it isn’t. You must have a pretty low threshhold for reality. Go back to sucking your thumb.
God is good and His love endures forever. Who said He is everywhere? Probably doesn't dwell among your lack of praises, hence your difficulty apprehending His presence.
God created the universe and all that is in it. He probably knows what He is doing better than you. He created evil and calamity for His purposes, not yours.
