PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup's annual update on Americans' attitudes toward the environment shows a public that over the last two years has become less worried about the threat of global warming, less convinced that its effects are already happening, and more likely to believe that scientists themselves are uncertain about its occurrence. In response to one key question, 48% of Americans now believe that the seriousness of global warming is generally exaggerated, up from 41% in 2009 and 31% in 1997, when Gallup first asked the question.
These results are based on the annual Gallup Social Series Environment poll, conducted March 4-7 of this year. The survey results show that the reversal in Americans' concerns about global warming that began last year has continued in 2010 -- in some cases reverting to the levels recorded when Gallup began tracking global warming measures more than a decade ago.
For example, the percentage of Americans who now say reports of global warming are generally exaggerated is by a significant margin the highest such reading in the 13-year history of asking the question. In 1997, 31% said global warming's effects had been exaggerated; last year, 41% said the same, and this year the number is 48%.

My question is what the hell is wrong with the other 52%?
I have any number of folks around me that haven’t even heard of Climate-Gate....
You know, the list is to extensive to print in a day! ;-)
Once again, with feeling. The most important “greenhouse gas” of all is water vapor, which simply because of its overwhelming presence, is of a magnitude of 20 times to 100 times of ANY other potential candidate as a “greenhouse gas”, specifically carbon dioxide. And any other “greenhouse gas”, like sulfur dioxide, is of such small concentration in our atmosphere, it constitutes no recognizable capability to serve as a significant reservoir of heat.
And without sufficient carbon dioxide, plants would unable to produce free oxygen and the various carbohydrates (cellulose, starch, lignin, sugar) so important to our daily lives.
I hope you educated them.
“I have any number of folks around me that havent even heard of Climate-Gate....”
Exactly. The msm in this country is not reporting on it.
This is also where I agree with Patrick Kennedy that the press is “despicable”.
AGW is just a load of goat dookie. It is the religion of the left. They should be prosecuted for this scam.
I can’t believe the “chutzpah” (sp?) that Democrats are eager to push Cap and Trade when they get done with healthcare.
After so much doubt has arisen about global warming and the allegedly settled science, will Obama lead Democrats off that cliff, after they jump off the healthcare cliff?
I think Dems. know that Nov. 2010 will not be kind to them, so they want to “Rahm” as much through as they can between now and then.
And after election day, when they see what the damage is, a lame-duck session of Congress will “Rahm” more through between then and January 3, 2011, when the newly elected Congress takes office.
I’ve been working on it.
Same here, but the ones I talk to on a regular basis have thought globull warming is a total fraud for years.

I for one have not seen any evidence of global warming where I live. (10 miles East of Helena). The overnight temp droped to 8 degrees this morning, currently it is 33 degrees and there are still drifts of snow in my back yard.
Eight more inches of snow yesterday. That brings our winter’s total to 140”. The low this morning was 5 degrees. It’s March 11, people!
Now I need to get out and clear my driveway and sidewalk. I have repeatedly offered Al Gore and his warmists the opportunity to come and help me shovel. It would do them good and, in Mr. Gore’s case, work some lard off his well padded butt. So far though, no takers.
Thanks, I’ll check it out... :-)
Yet many of them will readily spout 9-11 conspiracy theories...
