A national ID card using biometric data such as fingerprints is at the center of an immigration reform bill being hammered out in the U.S. Senate a measure that once again probably will pit advocates of homeland security and tough immigration enforcement against civil libertarians, employers and immigrant rights groups.
The new effort by Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Lindsey Graham, R- S.C., will revive the Real ID debate that has festered for years with little effect on illegal immigration. Under their plan, a universally required card would be encoded with all sorts of information regarding the holder, as well as contain a unique biometric signature created from either fingerprints or the vein patterns on the tops of the hands.
Bottom line: Employers will not be able to hire applicants who do not present a valid ID.
Schumer and Graham are slated to meet soon with President Barack Obama to brief him on their work. An administration official said the White House has no position on the biometric card, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

*** QUESTION What would the govt want to track our every move....to know if we are buying twinkies, liquor, cigarettes, etc?????ANSWER One answer fits all----Ohaha/Care. ***
Another answer; Who has the guns, how many, and where they are at any given moment.
every single day, this administration and congress prove to me that my my belief is true. i believe PEOPLE ARE STUPID.
“Just like gun control laws, all it does is data base legitimate citizens and never addresses the problem of illegal aliens.
Just remember, once your right to work is in a government data base, you as an individual and your families well-being are in the hands and control of ANYONE who can access and manipulate that data base. Especially to delete you from it. If you aren’t in the data base then you don’t work or collect any sort related benefits.
Just let your imagination roam and whatever bad things you can come up with, will probably occur.
You will be glad to hear that many, many Tea Party folks are working, as we type, on politely, but clearly unhitching both Armey’s, and Freedomwork’s wagons from their Tea Party plans, for the very reasons you have stated.
There are more than a few savvy folks out here in Tea Party Land, who are supremely aware of just how many people want to subvert the Tea Party power, for any number of reasons. Thank Heaven, since most of us, (present company included here ;), have been fooled at least once, we have indeed learned make sure to dig, dig, dig, on everyone.
