Eric Massa's Navy Files [If Beck only knew this prior to interview]
The Atlantic ^ | Mar 10 2010, 3:35 PM ET | Joshua Green

A couple years ago, I got a tip about Eric Massa. It involved his aggrieved former campaign manager, Sanford Dickert, who was involved in an ugly dispute. Dickert claimed Massa had fired him and refused to pay him for work he'd done on Massa's unsuccessful 2006 run for Congress. Massa, he said, had retaliated by issuing a series of salacious charges against him, which Dickert denied, including that he had hired, and then given alcohol to, underage staffers, and also that he had made a pass at Massa's teenage son. This seemed like a personal dispute that didn't have much news value and was, furthermore, impossible for me to adjudicate. I didn't write about it. Dickert wound up filing a libel suit against Massa, and in the court documents, which you can read here, the strange and bizarre charges are all laid out.

-

According to Peter Clarke, a Navy shipmate, Massa was notorious for making unwanted advances toward subordinates. He tells the story of his friend Stuart Borsch, with whom Massa shared a hotel room while on leave during the first Gulf War.

-

Massa's behavior in the Navy was not unknown to some in Washington. Around the time of Massa's 2006 race, Clarke says he told Christopher Mansour, then chief of staff to Democratic Rep. Dale Kildee of Michigan, and now a senior official in the Interior Department, about Massa's history. Reached by phone yesterday, Monsour told me, "I just don't want to comment about this. I'd rather not be in this story at all." He added, "I've never met [Massa] or had direct interaction with him."

Massa announced on Friday that he would resign from Congress. That announcement came shortly after the House Ethics Committee had been notified of Massa's behavior in the Navy.

"If Massa was a reliable Democrat, the MSM would still be covering up for him."

Very true! Today, the primary duty of America's "Main Stream Media" organizations is the promotion and protection of liberal programs and liberal Democrats & RINOS. The reporting and delivery of facts and news is of secondary importance or just ignored.

Massa is pretty good evidence of why we don't want to lighten up on the prohibition of certain behavior in the military.

Can you imagine this guy and Rahm Emanuel running through the barracks or sleeping berths playing grabass and "tickle me elmo"?

Here's the answer to the question about why the Dems are anxious to get rid of this guy. We must look back to the 1930s with the rise of the Nazi party to rule in Germany.

They'd always had homosexuals in top positions, and the head of a key Nazi component, the SA, Ernst Rolm, was certainly homosexual.

He had also been Hitler's secretary in prison and typed the text of Mein Kampf.

He wasn't the only homosexual in the top ranks.

So, how is that the Nazis got a reputation for making homosexuals wear pink triangles, and for sending them into the gas chambers? Well, the answer is not all that complex ~ in that crowd there was no institutional bias against homosexuals ~ that is, the Nazis weren't out to "get 'em". On the other hand, with so many top level people who were homosexuals it became a personal preference sort of thing.

If those low on the social ladder stepped out of line, or failed to amuse the top dogs, then they got sent to the camps. With ever shifting "love affairs" and "needs", that meant an awful lot of homosexuals displeased an awful lot of top Nazis.

It's the same with the Democrats. There if a low level Representative disrespects one of the top dogs, then they boot him out. Was sex involved? Surprisingly the answer was yes ~ It is reported that Barnie Frank's former chief of staff had been assigned to Massa's office as chief of staff. Lord only knows where else they got the "tickle boys" that made up the rest of the office.

If Massa had "proclivities" he certainly was given the opportunity to exhibit them.

He appears to have either voted wrong or not come across when approached for services.

Like I said, it's a phenomenon known with the Nazis, and it's not at all surprising to find it occurring in the ranks of the top Democrats.

Massa was good enough for the Dems until he showed an independent streak.

I read about Massa’s military capers two or three days right here on Free Republic.

Beck should put a researcher on FR everyday.

The guy is a slimeball who can't keep his perversions at bay.

He will get what he deserves. Why Beck gave him the time of day I will never know.

Massa came off better than I expected. I would characterize him as a not-very-bright palooka who thought he could swim with the sharks. Why do people think if Beck, or anyone else, interviews someone that he's embracing him, or is responsible for him?

Think how many jokes Twinkletoes is going to be the ...butt... of--lol

Rahm dances in the rain, but forgets his leotard.

Actually, I think it stinks, too. Too timely. Let these recipients of said gropes come forward and get on the record. I still think there's a story, and that is the rough actors in the DNC and how they deal with their own.

The left wants to "move on"--that means, don't.

What do you want to be that the “ethics” probes dies a very quiet death, with no real facts or names? We don’t have to defend Massa to point out the corruption of the process.

So, who really thinks the Dems haven’t known this all along and they’re letting it out now b/c of the vote. Same deal with Patterson, he upset the powers that be and out come his skeletons.

You can’t get into Democratic party politics unless 1) You are willing to play ball and 2) They have something serious on you in case you don’t play ball.

More evidence that Massa was telling the truth. WHY does this come out now, after he said what he did, and after he resigned? They want to ruin him, and it has nothing to do with their concern about protecting men from his advances. It is all about payback. He’s scum, but he messed with the wrong people, and now they’ll destroy him.

They will tolerate any kind of misbehavior & indecency to get what they want!!

Ignorance and Vice

"It is high Time for the people of this country to declare, whether they will be freemen or slaves? It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns us more that anything in this life. The Salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent. It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in a country where virtue and knowledge prevail. The religion and public liberty of a people are intimately connected; their interests are interwoven, they cannot subsist separately; therefore they rise and fall together. For this reason, it is always observable, that those who are combined to destroy the people's liberties, practice every art to poison their morals. How greatly then does it concern us, at all events, to put a stop to the progress of tyranny." --

Samuel Adams

There was no room in my Navy (1963-1991) for homosexual behavior, and there is no room in today’s Navy for homosexual behavior!

If a person is homosexual, he/she should confine his/her disgusting activities to non-military venues.

I don’t care what a person’s sexual proclivities are, and I damn sure don’t want to know what they are!

HST, heterosexual and homosexual persons who are caught preying on sailors should be forced out of the service with less than honorable discharges!

Beck has had Lonsberry on as a substitute host, and phoned in to Lonsberry’s radio show in Rochester the afternoon of Massa’s appearance on Beck’s TV show. It’s hard to believe Beck didn’t know Massa was a loose cannon, with some leftover allegations from his time in the Navy. I think Beck got ahead of himself, imagining he could bring down Rahm.

Still, I’d like to know why Massa’s story changed so drastically from his Sunday radio show to Monday at 5:00 p.m.
