Excerpt:
Monica Conyers has just been sentenced to 37 months in prison. She also received 2 years of supervised probation. Just before sentencing, Conyers screamed "If they have their tapes, I have my tapes too. I taped Rayford, I taped Riddle. You'll be fair to me or I want to withdraw my plea."
She also yelled, "What about my children? They did nothing to cause this. All I did was try to help someone I fired."
I read it quick and thought it said 37 YEARS! HA!
forgive my ignorance here but exactly did she do?
Unfortunately she’ll probably only do a couple of months. What an arrogant puke she is.
Yes yes it was sarcasm, people.
Do you know who I am?!
What’s known? Bribery, corruption, selling votes...I’m sure there’s lots of other crimes that “woman” has committed.
She’s got 30 days to appeal, which I’m sure she will, kicking and screaming and blaming whitey.
Hope and change, at last.
Detroit City Councilwoman Monica Conyers was sentenced for her role in a city corruption scandal. Conyers pleaded guilty to conspiracy last summer and admitted taking cash in exchange for supporting a $1.2 billion dollar contract with Houston-based Synagro Technologies.
Sure, the prosecutor called it bribery, but he's just a racist.
What was the maximum she could have gotten? 3 yrs. doesn’t seem nearly long enough.
thanks for the info
Thank you, now I remember.
She is a Democrat so odds are she is guilty of all sorts of felonies.............
She also yelled, “What about my children?”
Funny how they never think of this beforehand........
Yup, the wife of Rep. John Conyers D-Michigan, who wanted a “truth commission” - I guess truth starts at home Mr. Conyers:
On January 13, 2009, the House Committee on the Judiciary, led by Chairman Conyers, released “Reining in the Imperial Presidency: Lessons and Recommendations Relating to the Presidency of George W. Bush”, a 486-page report detailing alleged abuses of power that occurred during the Bush administration, and a comprehensive set of recommendations to prevent recurrence. Conyers has introduced a bill to set up a “truth commission” panel to investigate alleged policy abuses of the Bush administration.
