Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose, according to LAPD. He was 38.
Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4AM PT to investigate.
Haim shot to fame in the 80s -- when he co-starred in a number of films, including "The Lost Boys," with Corey Feldman.
I’m with you...Corey Haim and Cory Feldman movies were huge when I was growing up in the 80’s
‘License To Drive’ was pretty good.
Yeah! I thought so too! Kind of an underrated movie if you ask me.
That’s life in the bizarre Hollyweird fast lane...
I just watched The Lost Boys again!
Man, I am so happy my kids never messed with drugs. What a waste!
Dream a Little Dream?
Lucas I know.
Wow...Biblical quotations in your tag line. You obviously talk the talk.
Damn, that is 62 points in the death pool.
Too bad he is not on my team.
Up until a year ago, I would think Feldman would die first of the two. Then I saw a clip from one of them shows and it was obvious this guy was a mess and Feldman was worried about him.
This is what happens when you let a child go into showbiz/modeling.... this and Lindsay Lohan....
That should be warning enough
This was a 20+year druggie that did it to himself.
I'll save my sympathy for those that don't deserve the suffering.
Haim attempted to return to the industry in 2000 with another direct-to-video film, Without Malice, with Jennifer Beals and Craig Sheffer. He spent time in rehab. Haim says, “I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the Valium Im not talking about the other pills I went through”.[9]
This is awful. It’s just awful.
When I saw him act in Silver Bullet and in Lost Boys, I knew he was going to be the biggest Hollywood star of his time. He had so much talent! It was a gift. He should have been doing all the roles that Brad Pitt ruined and lots of the Keanu Reeves (even though I enjoy his stuff) parts. Even after years went by and he disintegrated into a druggie, I always hoped that he would pull out of whatever he was going through and get back into pictures. Through the years I would see some part in a movie and think that he would be excellent in the role.
I feel like I was cheated out of the star of a generation.
62 points in the dead pool.
I remember him. I thought he was cute as a button. Our kids were growing up during the 80’s and you can bet they remember him too. RIP Corey.
I liked that movie, 'Lucas.'
