Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is warning the tea party activists to not run third party candidates that would divide Republican voters and waste opportunities for the GOP.
Romney said in an interview with Newsmax posted on the conservative outlets website Monday night that he was pleased the conservative grassroots movement is silent no longer.
The likely 2012 GOP presidential candidate cautioned though that while he supports the idea of conservative challenges in GOP primaries, third party tea party-backed candidates in the general election could be disastrous.
Divide and fail is the result, Romney said of third party challenges. That would hand over the country to [President] Barack Obama and [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid, and that would be very sad indeed.
While Romney urged caution for the general election, the former governor indicated that has no problem letting the party sort out its divisions in primaries.
Asked about libertarian Rep. Ron Pauls (R-Texas) place in the GOP, Romney said we welcome his participation in our party, adding were a big-tent party.
Romney also wouldnt take sides in the Senate primary fight in Florida between Gov. Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio.
I like both of those individuals. I havent decided whether to endorse one or the other or neither, but I hope whoever wins the primary is able carry on very effectively in the general election, Romney said. We need more Republican senators in Washington very badly right now.
Thanks for sharing your pictures with me! I love all the new ideas for signs that people come up with! There’s always something creative and witty that I wish I thought of.
I couldn’t care less about his religion. (they aren’t hacking heads off or anything) but I just don’t care for RINOs.
Everytime you think a RINO has reached the bottom they knock it out and go deeper.
If Mitt runs then Obama will get four more years and we can kiss it all goodbye!!
Woo hoo!! I was there!!

I thought at one time, everyone was saying that he didn’t want to bring up his service. He may not have but everyone else did.
I think he was damaged in the Hanoi Hilton, and he was indocternated (sp) and he is a commie now.
Or, he just wants to be liked..
Uh Mitt! Sarah come to mind?
Yep and I got a real nice photo too.

I especially like the sign explaining the difference between global warming and hot flashes to Debbie Stabenow. LOL
Romney actually takes a veiled swipe at Ron Paul.
Romney = RINOmney
Screw it, a RINO is a liberal at my house. Mitt is a RINO and there are no two ways about it.
Well, judging by the comments here, Obama wins another term because tea partiers(and I have attended tea parties and would just as soon throw DC into the Potomac) are too stubborn or stupid to vote to keep a dangerous socialist out of the Presidency.
No Romney fan here, but, good grief. Wake up. Romney would be my last choice Republican, just like McLame, but worlds better than Obama.

Screw you Romney !
You and your commie mormon buddy Harry Reid can go swap secret handshakes in your cult temple, but a Romney nomination means the death of the RNC !
You know how bad the Dems will slice and dice this fool? His YouTube videos would be cut and pasted and flipped beyond recognition. Romney is totally a non-starter.
