One movie has been turned down: the 2008 film Bait Shop with comedian Bill Engval, which Fishburne said included too much drinking to be considered appropriate for a 5-year-old.

How much drinking IS appropriate for a 5 year old? And, I didn't realize Bill Engval was 5 years old.

Here’s what we mean when we say there is no difference between democrats and republicans. They both think they know best how we should be living our lives. And they think it’s their job to coerce us into conforming to their vision.

Smoking, sex, nudity and profane language are prohibited, as are "obscene" productions as defined by the state's sex crime laws.

OK so other than Disney what qualifies?

The government shouldn’t be funding any production.

This is a PERFECT example of illegal government censorship.

Absolutely no reason for this.

"Think of it as like Mayberry," state Rep. Stephen Precourt, R-Orlando, said, referring to The Andy Griffith Show. "That's when I grew up — the '60s. That's what life was like. I want Florida to be known for making those kinds of movies: Disney movies for kids and all that stuff. Like it used to be, you know?"

Mayberry was fiction and Andy Griffith and Ron Howard both endorsed OBAMA-HOPE-CHANGE.

If you want to have Florida known for these works, instead of strip joints, gay clubs, and spring break, maybe you should find some investors to produce film and tv works.

But don't feel surprised when Hollywood invokes the Pink-list against your productions. Ask Hollywood how they reacted when he decided to direct and produce a film (which took in hundreds of millions of dollars) about Jesus Christ that wasn't even in English.

Why not heavily tax the porn industry in Florida?

Why don’t we just bring back The Hays Commission while we’re at it?

“But the head of a coalition of 80 groups that advocate for equal rights said Precourt’s bill would “subsidize discrimination” and marginalize gay and single-parent families. “

A storm trooper brigade of left-wing perverts is a better term.

What is WRONG with the kind of morality which made America great???

“1950s-style censorship”

Not that there’s anything wrong with that...

I support politicians’ influence on film making with the same enthusiasm as I support actors’ influence on politics.

The purpose of the tax code is not social engineering.

The purpose of the tax code is to raise revenue for the government, period.

If this is such a worthy goal, why don’t they just pass a law requiring family friendly films. Oh yea, because it would be UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why should the government use the tax code to acheive something that is UNCONSTITUTIONAL?

The government is NOT the solution to every problem.

What a waste of time by the legislators. Don't they realize that Andy Griffith was (and is) a flaming liberal and that Mayberry was an IDEALIZED small town created on a back lot in Burbank?

More idiocy from Flori-duh. Then again, maybe these "feel good" pieces of legislation will distract them from taxing and taking our rights away.

It's not censorship, but it's a bad idea.

Government subsidy to shows that would otherwise not stay in business?
