But don't feel surprised when Hollywood invokes the Pink-list against your productions. Ask Hollywood how they reacted when he decided to direct and produce a film (which took in hundreds of millions of dollars) about Jesus Christ that wasn't even in English.
With creative financing, which Hollyweird has long employed, the production costs of movies that don’t qualify could be written against the production costs of some “tax credited” production.
Guess it depends on which part of Florida you're in.

There was no way that the Gibson film was going to get big sutdio financing. Serious films about religious subject matter had been box office poison for decades.

Stargate was made without studio financing, if I recall. Make a film and then find a distributor (just like the small filmmakers).
