The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.
AP/Luis M. Alvarez One sign at the United We Fish rally at the Capital summed up the feelings of recreational and commercial fishermen. This announcement comes at the time when the situation supposedly still is "fluid" and the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force still hasn't issued its final report on zoning uses of these waters.
That's a disappointment, but not really a surprise for fishing industry insiders who have negotiated for months with officials at the Council on Environmental Quality and bureaucrats on the task force. These angling advocates have come to suspect that public input into the process was a charade from the beginning.
"When the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) completed their successful campaign to convince the Ontario government to end one of the best scientifically managed big game hunts in North America (spring bear), the results of their agenda had severe economic impacts on small family businesses and the tourism economy of communities across northern and central Ontario," said Phil Morlock, director of environmental affairs for Shimano.
"Now we see NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the administration planning the future of recreational fishing access in America based on a similar agenda of these same groups and other Big Green anti-use organizations, through an Executive Order by the President. The current U.S. direction with fishing is a direct parallel to what happened in Canada with hunting: The negative economic impacts on hard working American families and small businesses are being ignored.

I nominate this topic for “most posted topic of the day”
Easy..save the worms..
Are there any States’ Rights involved?
When did the Federal Government confiscate all the rivers and ponds in the US?
I’m hoping for a few more “mark your census forms with I Am An American” posts.
I love competition!
lol thats a close 2nd today I think!

What do you mean! I did a search for “Culled Out” and found nothing posted on FR about it.
The search function on FR must not be working if there are other threads about this story.
Betwixt Sky and Sea, Water is owned by the feds.
Title Search or keyword search?
“Culled Out” was in at least one of the earlier posts.
Search often doesn't work the way I expect it to either. I would probably implement it differently. But it must work well for others.
What? I still haven't learned how to stop a Prius other than not
buying one or using a Police cruiser as an emergency brake.
On with the fish stories.
Thats a nice one
I called Bob Ethridge office (D-NC Libturd) and told his staffer about this. She has heard nothing of it. She was appalled. NC gets alot of money off of fishing. ALl states do. This will be shot down. PERIOD.
“Thats a nice one”
The fish isn’t bad either.
What is “Transition Green” mentioned in this article? Anyone know?
I’ll see what I can find out - but it may be the clue.
As to why Obama is doing this, well, he IS a control freak. Why would he want us to be able to feed ourselves? He wants to control everything - medical access, food access, fishing and hunting access - to have the ultimate in POLITICAL control.
probably figures if the Romans had banned fishing in Galilee and Judea 2000 years ago he would not be having these problems today....
This may be it.
TRANSITION TO GREEN

This is communism redux.
From reading the introduction Obama intended to ease into this through legislation. He hasn’t been successful.
This ‘green’ program will force us back into a “communal” lifestyle not seen in thousands of years.
Fishing is fading fast in the face of a furious onslaught of “Massa Groping Probe” posts.
Rule of thumb...salacious always wins in the USA!
