White House to host eco-friendly Easter Egg roll (Politicized "Green" Eggs)

With a theme of “Ready, Set, Go!” this year's annual White House Easter Egg Roll will focus on healthy kids and going green.  According to whitehouse.gov, the event will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 and will feature live music, sports, cooking stations, storytelling and, of course, Easter egg rolling. All of the activities will be geared towards encouraging children to lead healthy and active lives as part of Michelle Obama's ‘Let’s Move!’ campaign to combat childhood obesity.

In addition to health and wellness, the Easter Egg roll will have a green spin with eggs made in the U.S. from FSC-certified hardwood that feature vegetable-oil based inks and a water-based coating.  The eco-eggs will come in purple, pink, green and yellow and feature the stamped signatures of both President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

The lottery for tickets to the annual event closed on Feb 28th.  Did you apply?  Check recreation.gov to see if you were lucky enough to get a spot.  The eggs, produced and sold by the National Park Foundation, will be given as a souvenir to all children under 12 who attend the annual roll. But don't worry, if you didn't get in, you can also pick them up online for $7.50 a piece at the National Park Foundation website.

Sheesh! Does EVERYTHING have to be politicized nowadays? And why can't they use REAL eggs? I guess the White House is anti-abortion...when it comes to chickens.

“Green Egg” is or was the name of a pagan magazine. Easter has pagan roots, so the pot’s right.

If I’m not mistaken, they do use real eggs for the actual egg roll. These are the commemorative eggs given to each child who attends the egg roll.

We were able to go when W was president and our sons got the wooden eggs as a memento. They were solid wood and painted with the logo for the egg roll and George and Laura’s signature on the back. They are very nice... but I guess now they are made out of recycled paper or something... don’t get ‘em wet!

My mistake... they are wood...but the ‘green’ part comes from the vegetable dye they are painted with... Again...don’t get ‘em wet!!!

The “green” Leftist (aka watermelons - green on the inside, Red on the outside) and the jihadis seem to love that color. It is the color of emotion. Think about this phrase for a second, “green with envy.”

And what is envy? When a person lacks another’s (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it.

The Left and the jihadis lack certain qualities that the Right carries on a daily basis and essentially hate us for it. It was this way with Cain, Esau, and Ishmael back in the old days. They were prone to violence toward those they hated just like you see in the Left and jihadis today. Nothing new under the Sun.
