Whew, I get tired just thinking of all that kitchen prep. Bet your grandma chopped her own sausage for breakfast :-).
My grandma was a vegetarian Seventh day Adventist, but she did make two kinds of homemade bread every day. :-)
With a good knife, it's quicker than it sounds once you get used to it, less than five minutes. I've never convinced anyone to try, it though!
